[SIZE="3"][COLOR="Pink"][FONT="Palatino Linotype"]I had a blast, and I hope you enjoyed her too.

Since she was a violinist, I recommend on this music for immersion.

Here is her backstory:

QuoteBackground: Born into nobility, Jasmine was an only child, and the pride and joy to her parents. Her family was a noble one from Waterdeep. Since early age, Jasmine showed great potential with the arts of magic, learning and overall a very sharp child. She was considered a genius by many. She was sent by her father to study magic at the Blackstaff Tower academy, so she could one day, become a great wizard, and make her father even prouder.

As she grew up in the tower, by the age of 17, she became quite an attractive girl, using her good looks to gain special benefits, compared to the other students. Some of the other female students found noticed that, and in a fateful night, subdued her and preformed a blood ritual on her, which involved a cursed dagger of Shar, trying to inflict a curse on Jasmine. She woke up to find out all of the other girls were dead and she was holding the dagger. In her home, her father locked her up, while her mother didn't do a thing to stop him.

Her father hired an old tutor to teach her magic even when she was locked up. The maid that was tasked to take care of her, as her parents didn't want to see her, felt sorry for her, and started to bring her things to make her happy, among them, an old violin and a lute. After practicing without her father noticing it, she persuaded her maid to help her sneak out at nights so she could perform in the local tavern, and so she did. However, a commoner boy named Marcus, whom she started seeing found out about her nobility and started to threaten and extort her at first, then beat her and finally revealed her nightly performances to her father. Her father ordered all of her instruments and music sheets to be burned and killed her personal maid. Still, her mother did nothing to stop that.

Her old tutor died and a new one replaced him. This one was a dark haired lady who saw the miserable condition she was at and left with her a book about Shar that contained a cursed song. After days of crying and prayers to Shar every time she went to sleep, one night, she heard a voice that encouraged her to sing the song from the book in order to inflict sorrow and despair on others. She took a knife and sang the song, gaining powers she never knew before and butchered the whole house-hold, saving her parents for last, killing her father first for what he has done to her, then her mother, for never stopping her father.

She left Waterdeep and traveled the land, performing in taverns and villages. She never forgot the servant's boy's cruelty and her father actions. Each village and tavern she's been to, in the eve before she left, she seduced one of the better men (nice looking, strong, smart kind, etc) to her room/alley/forest and killed him. It was her revenge against all the males for what Marcus and her father have done to her as well as her way of leaving despair and agony wherever she goes to. Then the darkening came and she found one of the Spellguard's portals….

Here is an extended version of it:[hide=longer version!]Full Background: Born into nobility, Jasmine was an only child, and the pride and joy to her parents.

As she grew up in the tower, she quickly turned out to be not only smart, but also a very attractive girl with a sweet voice. By the age of 17 she quickly found out boys and young men fancied her, and she used that to her advantage, flirting with them as well as getting private lessons, advancing much faster than many of the other students. It did not go unnoticed, as some of the girls found out about her actions. One night some of those girls subdued her and tried to unleash a curse upon her in a dark ritual involving blood magic. The dagger the students have used in order to take Jasmine's blood was taken from a locked cabinet deep within the tower. Unknown to the students, the dagger was a cursed relic and belonged to the goddess Shar. The students couldn't handle the magic of the ritual and it ended prematurely, however Jasmine started to hear a voice in her head; a whispering voice of a woman, encouraging her to kill the other girls. Jasmine couldn't handle the voice and her loss of blood and passed out. When she woke up, she found herself holding the dagger and covered in blood that wasn't hers, while all around her were the bodies of the girls, stabbed to death. Jasmine threw the dagger away from her.

Scared and frightened by her actions, Jasmine quickly fled the tower back to her home, covered in robes. When the servants opened the door, they heard the crying voice of Jasmine and quickly let her in, calling her parents in the process. When her parents walked in the room, she took of the robes, revealing herself to be covered with blood. Instead of trying to comfort her, her father locked her in her old room, while her more caring, yet weak minded mother, could only gaze at her father's actions, doing nothing to stop him.

The following couple of days, Jasmine spent locked in her room; crying in the day and sleeping in the night. Except for a personal maid who's been signed to bring her food and keep her clean, no one in the entire household entered the room.

 After a week, her father went in and told her, without looking in his daughter's eyes that he found her a personal tutor so she could still practice magic and become a great wizard. Jasmine was furious. She didn't want to have anything with magic anymore, not after what happened to her in the tower. Her father didn't care. He wanted his daughter to become the greatest mage alive. He told her she'll remain locked until the whole incident in the tower will be history, and no one will be able to connect the Ilvastarr family to that incident. That was the last time Jasmine has seen her father for the next few weeks.

In the days to come, Jasmine didn't hear any voices anymore. She grew prettier by the day. She remained locked in her room, her parents never coming to visit her, only her personal maid. Her father hired an old mage tutor, nothing like the ones in the academy. She still studied and showed exceptional talent with old runes and various magical devices, but she was miserable. Her maid, feeling sorry for her, started to sneak her things that might cause her happiness. Among those things, were an old violin and a lute. Jasmine fell in love with the instruments, focusing all her time in playing them while her parents weren't around. She even started to write her own songs, and with her beautiful voice, managed to sing them. She invested all her time in music, neglecting her magical studies.

After a while, Jasmine begged her personal maid to help her sneak out at nights, in order to be able to sing and perform her songs in the local, less known taverns. Reluctantly, her maid agreed to do that, and quickly Jasmine found herself in a local tavern, singing, becoming very popular. This was the first time in a long time Jasmine felt truly happy. However, her happiness was not made to last for long.

In one of the nights she preformed, a charming young man named Marcus approached her after her show and started talking with her. They ended up talking for most of the night, until she really had to go back to her house, before anyone will notice. In her following shows Marcus was always there, and after each show they went for walks in the streets of Waterdeep. Jasmine fell in love with him and in the end, told him her full name, revealing to Marcus she's of a noble heritage.

Marcus wasn't a noble. He was a commoner, coming for a poor family. He promised Jasmine he'll take her away from her father, but for that he needs to make arrangements and coin. Thrilled, Jasmine gave him all the coins she had, and provided with him with every profit from her shows. But she soon found out, Marcus is spending all the coin she has given him, and he has no intention of running away with her. When she confronted him, he revealed to her that he doesn't love her and only wants her family's coin. That at the start he flirted with her because of her looks, but when he found out about her family's name, he jumped on the opportunity to get rich by using her. Jasmine told him she doesn't want anything to do with him anymore, but then he threatened her that if she won't give him any more gold, he'll tell her father about her nightly shows in the tavern. Frightened to lose her love and her happiness with music on the same day, she accepted his terms. She was angry and furious, but she was happy she still had her music, even if she'll lose all her coin over it.

This "arrangement" worked for a while, Jasmine kept on performing, while Marcus received her coin. However, Marcus developed an alcohol addiction, and from time to time, when Jasmine didn't provide enough coins, he beat her. But she endured, because she could still sing. One fateful night, Marcus decided he should get even more from her, and he didn't mean for more coins. He demanded she'll sleep with him or again, he'll tell her father. To this Jasmine couldn't agree anymore and tried to hit him, but he overpowered her and eventually, raped her.

Feeling ashamed she came back home, sneaking to her room, crying into her pillows. After weeks she didn't see, heard or talked with her father, he called her down. She saw her mother, her father, her personal maid and Marcus. Marcus just finished to tell her father about her nightly performances in the tavern. Her father, furious called for his servants to bring every sheet of music, every instrument in her room down burn them all, while his only daughter is looks in horror at his actions. She cried to him to stop, but he wouldn't. She then cried to her father about Marcus's actions against her. Refusing to listen to her, her father gave Marcus a big sum of coin to keep him quiet from telling anyone about his daughter occupying herself in "inappropriate acts for a noble". His last action was to have her personal maid who helped her escape and provided her with the music instruments to be taken quietly out to the alleys to have her killed.

Jasmine cried for days, weeks, blaming herself for her maid's death, as she was the one to ask her to help her. Feeling sorry for herself to have lost her happiness yet again, angry at her weak mother, once again standing still, while her father did as he pleases. Furious at her father, that even when she cried to him that the boy raped her, he didn't believe her and hasn't done a thing to him.

Her old tutor has passed on at that point; a new tutor was hired to replace him. This tutor was a dark haired lady who came only once before she vanished. She saw Jasmine's state and left her some books. One of the books was about the goddess Shar. As Jasmine had nothing else to do, she read all of them, but only the one about Shar she kept reading over and over again. In the book she found a page with letters and words she's never seen before. She went back to her other books to see if she can understand those runes. It turns out those runes were actually a song. She learned the song, but was still frightened to sing it. She started to offer Shar prayers in the nights, before going to sleep.

One fateful night, after a prayer to Shar, Jasmine thought she heard a voice in her head. An amused and taunting voice of a woman: "Sad child. Poor child. You have suffered enough. It's time for others to suffer. Sing my song…and kill them all". For the first time in a long time, Jasmine stopped to feel sorry for herself. She sang the song and felt different, closer to the shadows. She took a kitchen's knife and went from room to room, slaughtering everyone.

She saved her parents for last. She got to their bedroom, and woke them up. They saw her covered with blood, and tried to get as far away from her as she can. Then, she changed back, crying, saying she's sorry. Her father quickly took the chance and grabbed a candlestick to try to hit her. In a shallow and dry voice she then said to them: "Sorry, I lied". She quickly unleashed every magic she knew on him, every scroll, every magical instrument she possessed, yelling: "Are you proud of me now, daddy?" in a taunting and childish voice. Nothing was left from him in the end. As always, her mother was frozen with fear to do anything.

Jasmine yelled at her: "How could you let him do it!? Do all those horrible things to me!? I'm your daughter! You're supposed to love me!" She cried. "And now, you've done nothing as your husband died, the man you LOVE! Right in front of your eyes!" As always, her mother just stood there, starting to cry. Jasmine turned back slit her mother's throat, saying calmly, "You're the worst".

Jasmine left Waterdeep that day. Since she was already presumed dead, as none of her parents' friends never saw her since the incident at the tower. Her only regret was never seeing Marcus again, unable to kill him but only after making him suffer. She started to travel around the land, performing and singing in the taverns along the roads. She never stayed in a single place for too long. However, every tavern she's been to, she let the boys flirt with her, and after a few days, she chose one to flirt with back. The one she chose was usually the best one around: Strong, smart, kind, handsome. And every time she left a tavern, the eve before she left, she invited the boy to her room, one of the dark alleys or a romantic spot in the forest, where slowly stabbed him to death; executing her revenge against the males and leaving grief and sorrow at every village she's been to; all as offerings to Shar.

After the darkening, she had little opportunities to sing in taverns, as the dread empire has started to take a foothold on the surface. However, she could still inflict sorrow on survivors, killing beloved sons and brothers, tearing families apart even further. After encountering enthralled drow soldiers and running away from them, she spotted one of the Spellguard's portals. Thinking that was her goddess directing her and aiding in her escape, she jumped in there…

And here are her journal entries if for some reason you're really bored. There were a few more posts of the men she murdered I wanted to add, but I think they'd might had ruined people's interactions with her. Maybe I'll post them eventually.
I also hope you enjoyed her songs

So yes, as some of you have probably guessed (or spammed DE), she wasn't really about the Love and Kisses. She was more a men serial killer / black widow sort of girl. And of course, she was a follower of Shar. Whenever she did things she thought displeases her mistress she got headaches. Her idea for causing suffering was to make men fall for her, then have them killed, by the one they love. If she couldn't manage that, she'd have to make herself suffer. For example, becoming Crane's Prefect, a man she would hate the most for what he is and how he uses women, as well as trapping herself between four walls, instead of being free like she wanted all along.

I accomplished everything I set out with her to do and even more things I wanted to happen at some point in my time in EfU like becoming a Prefect. My only two regrets are not bringing out her actual personality IG more, but sticking with her façade for most of the time. The other one is not killing more PCs, but it was hard for me to find the right balance.

Of course I never managed to finish any of her books, but between studies, EfU and social life, I really couldn't find the time. Hope you enjoyed the Pink Patriot, and for those who might not know, obviously she was Gossip Girl aka The One Who Knows. Those who found out about it, I'm glad they didn't spoil it for others.
After playing a Prefect for a while, I can only suggest to others not to make it their primary objective, as there's really not much to do unless you create shit.

Time for a long thread with poorly taken descriptions. Enjoy!

The start â€" Melanie and the Wayfinders. My thanks to tinfoilhat for putting up with me so shortly after Jarik.

Joining the Wayfinders

I'm sure you all can guess what event went on here

And aftermath

Telling her story (or parts of it)

After Abala's death

If you can remember all those times she screamed at people that Seren didn't kill Melanie, well, obviously she knew Seren killed Melanie, but she wanted to use Seren to get to Cassandra. She didn't care that Cassandra is a priestess of Shar, she wanted her to pay for taking Melanie from her.

Goodbye Wayfinders (Not that any of them stayed alive for much longer)
[/hide]

The next woman Jas tried to find a mother figure (trying to find a mother figure was one of her goals) in was Gwen, but it didn't turn out so well. On the plus side she befriended Pak!
[hide=Gwen and Pak]

I'll admit, I had no clue Chand was standing there. But Gwen and Jasmine had a habit of talking about people while they were standing right next to them.

Pak's and Jasmine's relationship was a messy one
[/hide]

Fun times with Algarn and Eoghan (It was interesting to see her relationship with the two of them. Only two men in her life she had no desire to kill), which brought her closer to Algarn, who became a sort of protector for her. Of course, special thanks to Winston for this awesome quest.
[hide=Eoghan, Algarn and Jasmine]

She had a soft spot for children so she sacrificed her life for them.

[/hide]

She tried to find a replacement for Shar in the form of Vera, but TZ just prevented me from doing much in order to help Vera. She still was a good fit for Jasmine.
[hide=Vera]

The unholy trinity paid another visit later

She fought bravely at the Rosethorn assault. And by "fighting bravely", I mean spamming invisibility, healing and bard song.

While of course, upsetting OOC, Jasmine couldn't be happier seeing Gylin burn to death, and Oak die for treason later that night
[/hide]

Of course, performing at the Grotto aka hoping there won't be a trial (there was always a trial).
[hide=Performances]
[/hide]

Messing with people, because why not.
[hide=Jasmine was a bit too good with the facade from time to time]
"We're going to see a dragon..." >_>

MEN

Dumb OOC stuff with Kreshar

I guess she might had a thing with dragons

Matagar was her favorite toy
[/hide]

Except for the performances, I tried to give people events to break the usual "quest trains". I'm pretty sure I lost a bit of respect from the EfU community with the Charity Auction, but people had fun, so that's what counts.

[hide=Auction][/hide]

Elections! Thanks to Cmenden (wherever you are you crazy bastard) for the opportunity. While I'm a bit down I lost, it was fun regardless.

[hide=Crane]

[/hide]

Becoming Crane's Prefect (I forgot to tell Cmenden I'm going to pull that one). Jasmine's way of saving face as well as, who's going to suspect Crane's 'bed warmer' is a man-hater?
[hide=End of the Elections]
Somehow the word "Prefect" got into there. oops.
[/hide]

Jasmine tried to change her ways. She took Algarn's advice in taking Fenrick the Ilmateri as a secretary. But Fenrick fell for her and she couldn't let the opportunity pass. Sorry Tratzel :(

[Hide=Fenrick's Death]

So right before the end, she lied and told him she loves him too. Nothing better than seeing hope becomes destruction.

One of the only times her real personality came out

[/hide]

MORE dumb stuff! Again, I might have overreacted with her airhead girl persona. Was just hard to disconnect
[hide=misc]

[hide=Becoming an Oathsworn]
[/hide]

While being assaulted by the Orog and her ring stolen from her, Isabelle defended her with her life. I'm sad Isabelle's and Jasmine's time together as friends was short but I enjoyed every interaction between the LG knight and the CE singer.

The End (a 5 hours end…)
Special thanks to Wiggyboy for it. Things got a tiny bit messier than I thought they'd be, but that's EfU!

[hide=The End]
When Crane decided to let her go, she found no more use for him. So she tried to kill him for the man he is. But you can't win them all in EfU!

Yeah, I'm still not sure what went on there. But it was amusing situation

Jasmine was brought back from Lower to Upper, where she faced her trial, and of course, lost. Her final wish was to speak with Algarn, and eventually asking him to be the one to kill her.
[/hide]

And of course, the highlight of any obit, Loot. It's not overpowered and both were really suitable to Jasmine, so I think it's fine to post them.

[hide=Loot]
A Diva's dress from AMB

From Wiggyboy The most suitable necklace Jasmine could ever ask for

So for the last time I'll ever write these words again, Love and Kisses EfU.

Apocryphal Misconceptions

WriterX

I shall miss Jasmine! She has met many of my different PCs, a shame her and Kraus never got to meet each other more often, they would had made a devilish pair :p

granny

She was so pink, so pink, so pink.... that I never suspected! <3

#bestplans

I love cats

I loved my interactions with Jasmine on multiple characters. Also reading all of this I am  disappointed Jasmine never killed Gorstag Buckman. It would have been some true justice

Apocryphal Misconceptions

Pinkception, all the way.

Faux News

I said this on IRC already, but I gave you a hard time at first about this PC. But once I got to know her I realized there was a lot of nuance not readily visible elsewise and she grew on me. Thanks for making Upper politics a bit more bearable with your antics.

Blue41

I regret not getting the chance to know Jasmine a bit better with my PC. She's the last person I would have expected to have any involvement with Vera, or to have had such a tragic backstory. Shows that you can't judge a book by its cover.

TaintedDreams

I fell for Jasmine's facade hook-line-and-sinker for months after the character was created, OOC and IC, and I'd have to say that this speaks quite a bit as to how well done the character was in execution. Or my gullibility! I know I teased you a bit that Jasmine was occasionally hard to take seriously, but it truly made the character that much stronger when she betrayed expectations.

Very well done!

Black_TopHat

Ya know, its the characters that make you want to develop your own character further that  shows how great of a player someone is. That would be Jasmine to a "T". Every moment with her, even if it did end up mostly with Matagar stammering or bloody, made me want to invest as much time into developing him as you did with Jasmine Tala. Such an amazingly detailed character, I'm sad didnt get to be around as much as I wanted with her!

Looking to the next!

tinfoilhat

I was lucky enough to see some non love and kisses Jasmine before Melanie kicked the bucket, and unfortunately being a wildling didn't afford me many chances to interact with her afterwards.

Good show Tala :)

Saturnalia

Fantastic to the highest degree. A thousand cheers for Jasmine.

Pigadig

Pandip

I remember wanting to tease you about Jasmine until Ksenia started to interact with her, and then I picked up on some of the subtle hints that her demeanor was less than genuine. It was really fun to see her interact with the world at large and I was always crossing my fingers that you'd come out with some great, boisterous end game. And trying to kill Crane was certainly a fun twist to log onto the forums and see.

I appreciate you helping Ksenia's name live on among the others that Jasmine recognized in life and death. It's always cool to see a PC make the lives around them matter more, and Jasmine definitely instilled a sense of loss in others whenever a PC died.

Good stuff. Looking forward to the next.

TheUnknownEnderman

Could never have known.
Very well done, is all I can find to say.
