THE MAN HIMSELF

SLOAN AND HIS LOANS

Screen Shots & Obituaries / Isiden Halfhand
February 03, 2020, 01:13:28 AM
I took so many screenshots on Isiden, he was a blast to play. I made him with the sole idea of three things; he was gonna use unravel (a lot), he was gonna slowly go mad and he was going to eventually go out with a bang. That bang wasn't exactly what I imagined at first but it was still so much fun to play through. He stopped unravelling the world when he joined the Groatcloaks, but he was secretly plotting with his men to perform a large ritual of unravelling soon.

He lost a hand to the Arbiters for seamstry.

[hide][/hide]

He made a brother-in-arms of a man he once thought a monster.

[hide]
[/hide]

He ended up leading a company he never really asked for, but did his best to lead. They were family.

[hide][/hide]

In service to Tchamorrar, he received a rather interesting gift.

And on his death, Isiden's journal is found and made public. He is not a hero. He was a bit mad, really. But he never backed down from his word. He was honest to a fault. He was never quiet about unraveling seams. He accepted who he was.

He died in Ticker Square, confused and frantic, to the feared minotaur of the Adamantine Vault after trying to set Vladislav Orza on fire. The end.

Shout out to the Orzan PCs for a very interesting and fair conflict, to all the Groatcloak boys and Ticker PCs who made this a blast, to Richord for the arc with the Count, to Baddington Bear for that amazing bromance with Maruthas, some of my favourite moments, to Kaed for reeling me into his schemes at a vulnerable time for Isiden, his hand being chopped off by the Arbitration. This is truthfully the first real PC I've played here from start to finish and really dedicated time and thought into, even when I felt like I was losing touch with the concept, I kept going and awesome things kept happening. It's been a lot of fun. Cheers!

Arcane Assault (Spell Level: 2 (or 1), AoE that deals 1d8 magical damage.

SF: Evocation
Arcane Assault deals 1d8 + 1 per caster level on targets.

GSF: Evocation
Arcane Assault deals 1d8 + 1 per caster level on targets and forces a will save. If failed, targets are infected with 100-500 points of seam sickness.

I had written out a longer post for this but I was logged out and wrote it all on the forums, so if you have any questions find out in-game! You can message me on Discord or on the forums for questions if you're considering making a new PC for this, but for existing PCs, finding out in-game is best. You can seek out Isiden Kreceilt or Sloan Ulfkhur whenever they're around and make your interest known.

Introductions and Group Management / The Groatcloaks
January 19, 2020, 01:06:40 PM

The Groatcloaks

The Groatcloaks are now hiring good men and women, sponsored by Sloan Enterprises. Our proprietor, Sloan, has ensured through his connections that the Groatcloaks have a formidable chance of becoming officially sanctioned in Ticker Square as a guild with hard work and dedication. The company will be ringrunning, seam plundering, doing mercenary work and protecting citizens of Ticker Square. Led by the eccentric wizard Isiden Kreceilt, a known seamster, this will not just be an umbrella of Sloan Enterprises but its own living and breathing entity. Every member will have a chance to influence its direction and rise to prominence.

The pay will be one thousand groats a month and five hundred upon joining. The position of Lieutenant is open and any member can work towards it, and likely have a portion of their fee to join the guild covered by Sloan Enterprises with enough dedication and proven loyalty. The uniform is black & gold but not yet official (I will slowly be funding it to players who are active in the company for a good while so I know they won't just run off with the boons or drop the PC), and every member will be issued a guild cloak to represent their ties to Ticker Square and Sloan Ulfkhur.

Bug Reports / Unravel Bug/Server Crashing

Using Unravel twice seems to crash the server after they're cleared. Not sure if coincidental but it happened twice in the same circumstances.

A very inclusive PC that I always enjoyed interacting with :) Didn't see much of her in her late career but I heard many cool things! The Gray Keep sounded awesome. Good luck on your next PC.

Suggestions / Re: Strongholds in Peerage

Definitely, and without discussing it further, I can only say the best way forward is through the actions of players. It would feel /very weird/ if a DM suddenly changed how the Peerage works on a whim because of something not liked OOC. With enough effort and initiative, anything can be changed!

So far player houses have been absorbed into the actual houses. That's fine and all, but DMs have mentioned that minor player houses is something they would like to see. I don't see how a Peerage themed stronghold would dilute the fun of the Peerage. Ticker Square is very much not that- most people hold onto the strongholds until they die or retire. It costs 20k to even get a stronghold in Ticker. Beyond that, most minor houses like someone said before aim for Sunpurse Manor. A weird dynamic, yes, when they spend most of their time in the Peerage (though on Stywell for a while I was focusing entirely on the Pond), but the drive is there. I could only see a stronghold in the Peerage adding to the fun of it and making it feel less stagnant. Having actual house rivalries and not just having this feeling of, "Oh you're a Peer! Let's be best friends even though I serve Orza and you serve Velstra". It's not fun. Every Peer banding together to go through rings is not fun. There needs to be some kind of rivalry and conflict.

Suggestions / Re: Thoughts on Conjuration

I haven't gotten far in the shadow theme, and tier 3 seems quite strong. Though I feel like tier 2 should not be a slinger, and should instead be a melee summon, and tier 1 should be slingers.
