This turning option seems to be broken, I never get any benefit from it despite casting neck deep in halflings. Per the wiki:

Champion the Smallfolk: The user receives +1 dodge AC for every nearby ally in a huge radius who is a dwarf, gnome, or halfling, up to a maximum of +4 or +1d(Level), whichever is lower, for 5 + 3*CHA rounds. For every +2 dodge AC, receive +1 universal saves for the duration. For every +4 dodge AC, receive +1 non-magical AB for the duration.

but I never get any bonus ac, unless it doesn't show on char sheet

Suggestions / Wilderness Survival = Fire
June 03, 2022, 08:56:07 PM
Make Starting a campfire a wilderness survival check. Flat d20 + Wilderness Survival Skill. Give us a Player Tool that lets us do it without oil flasks at DC 20. Make doing it with oil DC 11, so someone with 10 Wilderness Survival will always succeed.

Let Rangers, Druids, and Barbarians auto succeed at these campfire checks.

Background: The orphan child of a pair of gardeners killed during the Ponds massacre. Annalisse was more or less raised by the Ponds community without any real guardian. She grew up playing among reeds and scavenging for mushrooms and berries. Always a quiet and isolated child, she grew closer with nature than with people, and preferred quiet study and isolation to discourse. She would not have any actual interaction with the druids of the ponds however until a chance meeting with then Autumnmask Crookjaw, then grounds keeper and head the the circle of the students of the lost oath. Despite being initially suspicious of the old man who claimed to have known her parents, she resisted his attempts to dissuade her from a Druids life due to her immense curiosity and desire to learn.
-
Faith: Her mother (or possibly grandmother) was an awoken, and her only remaining link with her parents is her partial memories and recollections of 'The Night Mother', a syncretic heresy of Selune and Shar held by her ancestor distorted by their time in the City of Rings. This is a goddess of secrets and keeping things secret, one who conceals, the knower of all that is forgotten and the helper of those who care to forget things. She is worshipped by whispering secrets at night and making offerings at certain lunar phases.

Annalisse approaches her as a goddess of knowledge, one who knows all forgotten things and can reveal them. And also a goddess of protection, one who can keep her hidden from her enemies. A childhood isolated on the fringes of society has made her deeply suspicious of others, and she prefers to avoid confrontation than engage it head on as a result.

THE NIGHT MOTHER Alignment: TN Portfolio: The Moon, The Stars, Darkness, Night, navigation, Wanderers , Loss, Forgetfulness, Secrets Domains: Cavern, Darkness, Knowledge, Chaos, Travel, Protection, Illusion

It would be evident to any sufficiently learned Awakened from Faerun that the Night Mother is a syncretic heresy of Selune and Shar, combining both of their features through the lens of local belief. Concerning itself primarily with secrets and secretiveness, it offers protection to those who wish to remain hidden, though in contrast to the Hidden One who asks for pieces of the soul the Night Mother asks for secrets.

It is slightly feminist in leaning, positioning itself as a rival to the worship of The Lady which it posits is nothing more than a pastiche of the Night Mother filtered through a patriarchally favored peerage. It is not a large faith, and in fact may be endemic to a single individual born of a 'native' father and awakened mother...
-
She has taken to using the pen-name NightEye to voice, via annonymous graffiti, the things she muses to herself but is fearful of saying out loud due to her caution:

They can be found here: https://www.efupw.com/forums/index.php?action=profile;area=showposts;u=20812

Most poignantly they outline her belief in the Nightmother and how to worship her, as well as her belief that the Lady in Waiting is a manufactured diety that is essentially a mockery of the Night Mother bereft of 'feminine agency'.

Front Shot - Ironically I don't think I have any of her without her hood/helmet. She never took either off. Her hair was white and it was that one human female headset with the wavey hair and the long bangs

Lurking

Initially, she was meant to be a very low-key and cautious druid who would absolutely not draw attention to herself. Eventually that went out the window as she vented her rage and frustration with the people of the city, who she increasingly began to view as an invasive and overpopulated species.

Suggestions / NPC purchasable Blind Fight
August 21, 2021, 08:30:00 PM
This is a tax feat for ANYONE who uses combat in any way. Literally only mages can get away with not having it. Having to pay 6k to some blind old monk to teach you to git gud is a decent compromise, IMO.

Is such a thing even possible, even with our new tools? If it is, you should totally make weapon finesse apply to Q-staves.
C'mon. It'd be *cool*

This may not be the right place for this but here goes.

One of the more exciting aspects of EfU:R and the creative freedom it allows players is the ability to twist or outright ignore the existing canon religions of the Forgotten Realms for their own local cults, heresies, and small gods. There are many excellent Small Gods of the City now which are being repped by the players, but there is always room for more in The City. This thread is for the purpose of suggesting, promoting, and communally workshopping idea's for local faiths or cults which players may choose to rep, or someday may even become "official" small-faiths.

While IC is always the best place to proselytize, this thread can serve as a brain storm or repository of idea's and inspiration, or a genuine communal effort towards the end of creating unique philosophies and spiritual views that can help shape player interaction and goals.

Sela Muratore was my first 'real' PC after coming back to EfU from a protracted absence.

The concept was simple: play a cultist who worshiped The City itself as a God, and attempt to promote the worship of The City as a small faith. For some insane reason, I chose a Sorcerer (cultist was right there in the name!) to do it. Her name was Sicilian, as I randomly decided she had originally been born in Sembia. Sela is hebrew for rock, and Muratore is Sicilian for Brick-Layer. Sela was not a native to the city - technically she was an awakened, but she had been brought to the city as a little girl. Orphaned and separated from her family, her sorceress powers manifested in figures of Stone, who came to be her family and protectors. She came to believe that with the Stones rising to protect her, and with the streets of The City twisting and moving, that not only was The City alive but a God and it was looking after her like a benevolent protector. Not many shared this sentiment.

She occasionally referred to The City as 'the pleroma', which is a greek term referring to "the totallity of godhead", or in gnosticism 'the spiritual universe as the abode of God and of the totality of the divine powers and emanations.' This related to her belief that not only was the city a god, it was the ONLY God, and all others were merely manifestations of it. Moreover, she believed not that the City was part of the universe, but that the city WAS the universe - any faded memories of a world outside of it were merely dementia brought on by exposure to the chaos of the elemental planes.

Sadly, my attempts got stonewalled (heh) by the relative death of the Stonemasons as an actual faction, as opposed to when I last played at the launch of CoR. I did get partway into some real dank nasty lore relating to the background of the Stonemasons, the creation of The City, and the origins of the guild thanks to Khazid, and there's some cool stuff you guys should check out if it becomes relevant again.

I was glad for this perma event as a chance to give some closure as my interest had wandered.
Lessons Learned
Next time roll a cleric
Earth Elementals are ass to control
Conjurer Sorcs, while it's hilarious how many minions you can flood the battlefield with, aren't very useful unless those minions are something cool like illusions or planars

[hide=Character Notes]"When I was young, the stones were my playmates. First it was just a childs playing with rocks, because that was all I had. But soon, I realized I could make them move. They responded when I was frightened, or lonely, or happy. Men made of pebbles and grit, they made me feel safe. Made me feel like I was less alone.  Sometimes they even protected me, or guided me to safety. They were tiny things then, the size of toys. They've gotten much bigger now."

Goals
-Gain membership to the Stonebuilder's Guild
-Explore the mystical roots of the Stonebuilders Guild
-Promote the veneration, if not outright worship, of The City itself
-Explore the mysteries of the Runestones, the Golems
-Explore the mysteries of the architects
-Gain mastery over the stone of the city
-Spread the city to other planes or places
-Restore the city to it's proper function

Background: Sela Muratore is not native to the city, being born over a decade ago in the land of Sembia. She awoke, frightened and alone, inside the walls of the city at the age of six. She could not remember how she had got there, nor her family. Since then she has, over the course of her life, gradually made her way further inward of the city - at first only because she had nothing and no one to take care of her, besides bands of nomads or troupes of ringrunners. But eventually because she heard of the famous Ring 99, and the wonderous things that could be found there. A place where the servants of The King, the Cities chosen emissary, ruled. Sela began to believe her sorcerous powers were a gift from the city itself, which she began to in turn regard as a God, believing it to be not only alive but aware, actively providing for her and guiding her passage. Now a young woman, she washes up on a trashpickers scow, the victim of a wreck further out the rings when she tried to use a ship made of trash to sail down the royal canals (it didn't work). Which is just as well, because she has inadvertently arrived where she intended. Ring 99.

Elven Aim effect of turn undead will *ONLY* proc if you have no other turn effects active.  I thought at first this was just a balance decision and not a bug, but this includes eyes of the forest, which only gives a bonus to spot/listen and has no effect on combat stats. Elven Aim is thus in effect useless, unless you randomly roll it first - and then no other turn undead effect will take until it wears off.

At this time I am unable to test if regular buff spells interfere (like magic weapon or divine favor) due to the random nature of procuring Elven Aim from turn undead.

Suggestions / Major Domains Turn Undead Adjustments
January 31, 2019, 03:40:01 AM
Overall, really great work, makes extra turning and 12+ cha very tempting on clerics. Please believe me when I say I am absolutely impressed and happy with what we have

In general

Add a message that lets you know what turn effect you just got?

Elf

Eyes of the forest isn't as bad as I thought originally as I re-read it and realized it's duration was in turns, not rounds. Still, could use something like a low light vision or + to search effect?

Knowledge and Magic

Seem a bit weaker than the others but I assume that's intentional because these two domains give a fucking truckload of bonus spells

Destruction

Bombardier looks like hilarious fun, but could it be modified to not hurt the caster somehow? Damaging allies is fine.

Suggestions / Furor Cooldowns for Fighter Perks
January 31, 2019, 03:11:06 AM
The barbarian furor system is the new hotness and an excellent example of fantastic coding.  So it was I was wondering if our humble fighter could have their /c fighter_perk abilities modified to operate on this same system - that is, rather than being once a day, operation on a cooldown affected by the users CHA and/or WIS, similar to how Barb rage now has a cooldown. The abilities themselves are already fairly short duration - shorter than a barbarian rage in some instances (most lasting 1 turn, = to an unmodified barb rage).

It's a bug.

It's been fixed.

However, unfortunately I need to fix them manually - so it's likely I missed some.

If you come upon any [Reinforced Chest of Gold] that doesn't reset from each quest attempt, please let me know.

As per this post by Howlando in Suggestions, setting up this thread to track gold strongboxes that aren't properly populating.

Can confirm the box in 'Something Hungry' - Drips does not re-populate
Can confirm box (and generic crates) in ring 100's 'Abandoned House' for Murick Mulms quest do not re-populate

Suggestions / Give deflection AC for parry
January 23, 2019, 10:12:26 PM
5 Parry = 1 deflection AC, modified down ala tumble (ie, you take lower, RAW or modified). This would give +1 Deflection AC at lvl 1, +2 at 7, and +3 at 12 (lol)

Deflection AC does not stack. Deflection AC is easily acquired. It would be a small change, and make Parry less of an absolutely useless choice except for that one time in EfU:M

Suggestions / Give Monks uncanny dodge at level 8

Suggesting this again, since literally all of their AC is dodge and yet for some reason they don't get the one feat which prevents them from getting shuffled and eating shit

Suggestions / Obelisks
January 22, 2019, 06:06:31 PM
The value and utility of the Primordial Obelisks is appreciated; however that is not immediately apparent and it was only by random chance I figured out they could be interacted with at all and were not just flavor placebles. There probably should be a convo or hint somewhere suggesting their use.

Bug Reports / Ring 100 - Various Quests
January 22, 2019, 03:13:13 PM
Magothy - Does not issue quest, just says GREETINGS!
A Young Doorkeeper - Does not issue bronze ear despite going through steps and prompt in Convo. Quest furthermore does not close, not even on attempting to speak to Doorkeepers in Clocktower.
Murmick Mulms - Quest issues, but journal entry is corrupt and blank, and does not disappear after completing

Bug Reports / Dye Barrel Non-Functioning
January 21, 2019, 05:11:48 PM
The dye barrel in Poetry and Steel has no linked uniform box and is therefore useless. It delivers an error message noting it has no uniform box.
