When you dye something using a dye pot essentially the item is remade so it won't be flagged as belonging to Tagnar any longer.

Just as a head's up, I won't be logging in to irc for the foreseeable once again. If you'd like to get in touch with me, please send me a forum PM or catch me when I'm in game.

::[ Ches 7th : Year 164 : 1386 DR ]::

The natural world is left shaken in the wake of a supposed dark ritual performed by the infamous Bone King and his cabal of followers, said to have been a harrowing that took place deep within the energetic field of life known to it's keepers as The Ley. The Circle of Stewards were said to have attempted valiantly to repel these wretched advances, yet in these grim days their numbers are few and the Circle's name is hardly ever mentioned, it is clear that now the Druid's are not so dormant..

Several are said to have died during this blasphemous rite, although names are scarce and rumours leave out key details, it is certain this is not the last foul act upon the Bone King's dark list.

::[Ches 5th, 1386 DR}::

As the dust settles two days after the end of the brief campaign of terror bombing launched by the so called"King of Bones", Upper Sanctuary is astir with nerves and fear. Many citizens wonder how this savage and his accomplices could have circumvented the vast security apparatus of the Watchers and Warders, conducting a pair of devastating explosive attacks in the heart of the Public Vaults and Upper proper. The first explosion to rock the city is said to have occured in one of the many abandoned buildings in the Vaults, but the fire quickly began to spread and might have done considerably more damage if not for the prompt efforts of many citizens and officials who raced to extinguish the incendiaries.

However, it quickly became apparent that the first blast was merely a distraction for another crime committed in the House of Knowledge. It is said the Bone-King and his accomplices including an Ascensionist used the departure of so many Watchers and Warders to effect a daring robbery. Although official sources remain tight lipped on what precisely was stolen, rumors suggest it was one or more relics from the higher floors. Although some library staff and lingering Watchers are reputed to have put up resistance, the robbers escaped with their prize.

As the chaos began to abate, a series of sendings were issued from Lower, demanding that unless Watcher Irina Dolokhova was slain by the hands of Sanctuary's citizenry and piked at the Barbican then the necromancer would detonate another bomb every fifteen minutes until his demands were met. Following a very public battle of words through the sending systems, as promised, fifteen minutes later a second blast ripped through Upper. It is said that many Watchers and adventurers had already left the city seeking vengeance on the home of the Bone-King and thus the city was vulnerable to infiltration. When it became apparent the bombers had targeted the Simms Memorial Orphanage, the people of the city were horror stricken at the callous attempt to kill orphaned children. Although the official line is that none were harmed in the explosion, it is commonly held that this is not entirely true.

One thing is evident in the wake of these tragedies, yet another threat has come knocking at Sanctuary's gates, what remains to be seen is how her defenders will react...

Roll up, roll up. The Circus is in town!

Comandante Ballyhoo's Circus Fantasmica, the greatest travelling, portal jumping circus in the land has found it's way to Sanctuary!

The Prelude will be a stand alone group that whilst they will not be leading on to anything specific, it will certainly open up a lot of avenues for new characters with the possibility of continued adventures upon success.

The Prelude is open for all kinds of characters and concepts, with their niche naturally being that they are performers and oddballs that have grouped together under Comandante Ballyhoo's banner.
  • Acrobats
  • Bearded Ladies
  • Strongmen
  • Animal Tamers
  • Illusionists
  • clowns
The list is endless for character concepts, the group will mostly be aligned around chaotic alignments with a heavy influence on neutrality. The Ringmaster, for the time being, is set but beyond that the sky is the limit.

Join me on #fantasmica if you wish to join the prelude, and to discuss a time this week where it can be run.

I can understand the frustration, but sadly this is a trade off that balances allowing other people to access and improve a lair. There's no plans of this changing.

Hello everyone, another reminder of the many benefits that come from using your personal character notes.

It is impossible to track a lot of the goings on with your characters without updating these regularly. Recently character notes are pretty sparse, using them alleviates confusion and adds to DM interest in every sense.

Exactly as Pentaxius says, in wild shape there are already significant options for Druids already.

I've been reluctant to respond to this thread, although I suppose people may have been expecting me to.

As a player I almost exclusively played nature characters throughout my years at EFU, a majority of them Stewards and a larger majority of them Druids. Whilst playing those characters I can count on one hand the amount of DM interaction that my characters had, or exclusive "nature plots" I was involved in. However, there was never a time that my characters and their allies and faction mates were not involved in something.

Being a Steward, or even being a Druid, does not bar you from the other plots that are happening on the server. As a Steward, a Druid or an ally to nature means that you should be shoehorning yourself into everyone's business and reacting to everything that is going on everywhere. You are a voice of balance and as such you should be involved in whatever you can.

Now that isn't to say that I am passing the book. As a DM my almost exclusive interest is in nature and that side of the server - a fact I have been praised and vilified for in equal amounts - and the reality is that my one plot that was directly stewards based was years ago now. Howeveer after that plot the burnout was real, and there have been major plots since that I have noticed the Stewards shying away from which is unusual to me. Plots are not designed for "nature only" or "whatever faction only". And at times I feel that there is a strange disconnect from the rest of the server based around an overview that 'team nature' are not involved in things. By playing on the server you are involved in things, involve yourself.

As for the NPC's being more active the same could be said elsewhere, that you do not see them wandering around is hardly a stewards only 'problem' if you will.

To me, the Stewards have one of the most rich and carefully woven stories with heritage spanning every chapter and being directly involved in all of the major changes that have happened up till this date. The faction and indeed the classes and play styles most prominent therein aren't for everyone, and yes it can feel isolated, lonely and hard to log in for at times - I know all to well how it feels myself - however I maintain that the role play found in the wilderness when it happens and the excitement of interactions is always worth those lulls.
