Announcements / Prelude and Plot
March 13, 2013, 05:39:35 PM
I'm going to be running a prelude that will become an ongoing plot. I am looking for PCs who want to be part of this. It will be a Sidhe (Fey) focused plot-line for Non-Good, Non Paladin/Druid/Cleric PCs only.

This is going to be for players who are playing this PC as their main.

If you are interested please PM me a brief background on your character and race/age/deity/build as well as your usual playing times.

Updates on when this will be held to come.

Screen Shots & Obituaries / Lazari Istani
February 19, 2013, 02:36:44 PM
So ends the tale of Lazari Istani, Priest of Mask, Vicar of the Old Stones.

This character was created on Thursday, December 13th, 2012 at 05:54:24 PM.
Since creation, this character has logged on and off 122 times.
The character has spent 6 days, 9 hours, 16 minutes, and 1 second online.

Lazari was orphaned at a young age. He quickly learned that the key to survival lay in joining on of the local gangs. There he spent his childhood. In his adolescence his conniving and manipulative nature was recognized by some of the higher-ups, who began teaching him in secret the ways of the Maskarran Priesthood.

This character evolved a lot from when I first created him. Initially, he was masquerading as a Sharressan drug peddler, while in secret he worked to gather the thieves, thugs, and criminals lurking in the dark corners of the server and teach them something about faith, family, loyalty and larceny.

We pulled off a couple high profile thefts and successfully shifted blame for them.

Lazari eventually earned the Shifter PrC, a divine gift from the Lord of Thieves. The idea was to use it to throw people off his trail and pull off more convoluted heists and plans.

Though I did not get a chance to accomplish a lot of the things I had planned, I had a blast playing him and thanks to many of the people who contributed during his career, you know who you are.

Big thanks to wcsherry as well.

I don't have that many screen shots, and the few I do are potentially spoilerific, so I will just leave you with this one, of Lazari sitting in his office chair, being a boss.

Suggestions / Forgery Skill
January 16, 2013, 10:53:02 PM
With all these keys and coins and whatnot with names floating around on them, I would suggest that a character with skill focus:bluff be able to change the name on their coin/key/citizenship papers etc, or an efuss forgery skill that is like forgery + bluff + dex(?) vs some DC to successfully forge a different name on one of those tokens.

Bug Reports / Impish Accountant...

Doesn't let me talk through him with chat commands, unless I'm doing something wrong, I tried all the /s, /v, /h etc. ones and none of them worked.

Could she also sell blank notes and journals?

Bug Reports / Trace Gerion quest reward broken

I think she doesn't count each feather you collect but instead only counts and rewards for 1, leaving all the others in your inventory when you turn in the quest.

Suggestions / Rope Ladder in Gobsquat
May 15, 2010, 07:15:50 AM
Can there be a rope ladder in gobsquat leading to the outer forest from that ledge area?

Currently Gobsquat is the only area that does not have a way of getting out of the city that is easily accessible like Docks or Ziggurat - you can't even access the inner city ruins. It's completely blocked off to anybody who can not freely travel the Ziggurat and option other than braving the nightrisers at night would be welcome.

Screen Shots & Obituaries / Dhamien Stenton
April 29, 2010, 06:00:23 AM
Well, he was a blast to play, and I'm sad to see him go, but alas!

Some fun facts:

Dhamien was only 19 years old. He was a Momma's Boy. He had plans to betray the Sons and try to usurp his father and regain his noble title!

He worshipped Siamorphe.

He had a very large bluff score and lied a lot to everybody!

Here are some of the screenshots I took throughout his life:

First parts of his prelude, I though i screenied all of it but some of them have dissappeared so this is what I have:

His time as an orc:

Some secret plotting with D'Erlon!

His foray into the artistic side of life!

His armor:

And the end!

Thanks to all the DMs and players I interacted with! He was a blast to play!

This was an idea that was floating around IRC earlier so I can't really take credit for it, but I wish to steal it as it fits my current character and group rather well.

In a nutshell, players would roll up a new character that would be a slave, and they would be forced to fight in a low lvl gladiator event sponsored by the Thayan Enclave. The winner would earn his freedom and the losers would be sold to other patricians or to the Enclave, or keep fighting in subsequent rounds of the event.

People could make these as Alt characters if they are not super interested in playing full-time slaves. There would be a small admission fee to see the fights and and then whatever anyone wants to bet on their favorites.

Of course afterward patricians could buy the losers for pretty cheap, as it is not certain the characters will stay on for very long after all is said and done.

I'd need some DM help in setting this up, so I'd like to see if there is actual interest amongst the playerbase to see/participate in an event like this held periodically.

Some rules for gladiators would be:

1) No equipment except what is issued, which shall be a set of armor and weapon/weapons+shield of choice. No questing. Etc. (unless the character is sold out of the arena or wins and is no longer a gladiator)

2) All fights are on FD but would stop the moment a character hits the ground dead, so its possible to die, but also possible to survive. And then roman style, thumbs up or thumbs down for live or die.

Any other suggestions for rules are welcome.

Off-topic Discussion / EFU-based Manga (english version)

Here it is, hope it reads okay, I did no proof reading of any sort. The dialogue may suck, deal with it.

Introductions and Group Management / The Thayan Enclave
September 11, 2009, 05:46:11 AM
You guys all have a pretty good idea what goes on in Thayan Enclaves right?

Slave trade. Wizard-y stuff. Secret criminal stuff. Breaking knees. Merchanting. Making deals. Chilling with RWG.

Lots of good fun!

You don't have to be a Thayan or a wizard to join! Any non-good character is welcome to join and will probably have stuff to do to help the Enclave's rise to power!

I don't want to say to much of what I have planned because it is spoilerish, but if you are interested send me a pm or hit me up on IRC and I'll give you some more info.

A quick disclaimer:

This manga was written for an assignment for school, as such it is all in Japanese and the panels are read from RIGHT to LEFT.

The scanner quality isn't great and you can see some of the light lines that are used for page markings and tools for the professional printers, so just do your best to ignore them.

This is also my first attempt at comics.

Also, the characters used were done so with the consent of their original creators. As you all know, I was limited to 16 pages, so the events in this comic, while similar, do not reflect actual events of EFU. It is more of a "what if" with a bit of dramatic flair to the Japanese way of writing and drawing.

Finally, if you do not want to see the art without knowing the story, you should not read this thread and wait until I have translated and re-posted.

That is all.

Hope you enjoyed it, and as I worked really hard on this, please don't steal my work or anything like that.

Off-topic Discussion / Coming Soon: EFU based Manga
August 30, 2009, 05:27:50 AM
So.

I know how eagerly you have all been awaiting my masterpiece.

I've finished it. Finally. Tomorrow I head out to Kinkos to scan it all. Now, here's the ultimate question. Do you want to wait until I translate it into English, or should I post up a Japanese version for the interim until I get back to Japan and find a copy of photoshop etc. translate and edit (we're honestly looking at another 5 days to a week probably until everything is translated).

Vote or Die bitches.

Screen Shots & Obituaries / Hisham al-Aqra
July 01, 2009, 09:16:35 AM
Plot is still ongoing so I'll only post up a few goodies, maybe more later when everything finishes.

First off, my loot:

Hisham telling a halfling whats what:

Hisham being badass! But also dying >.> (JUst ignore that part, I had him to Near Death!)

Hisham and Marcel strutting along like buddies:

Hm, I guess the rest are all kind of plot related. I'll post them later on.

Anyway it was a sweet run, thanks especially to Mort for running the sweet plots. I'll miss Ironhalo!
