Suggestions / Brimstone Lodge

Hey I know this is supposed to be FOIG or something but its probably the least kept secret IG. So here goes.

The Brimstone Lodge recently lost its alchemy table as it was causing issues, however alchemy has since been nerfed and it was understood this meant the table should be coming back. Idk if that's true or not and even though I was looking forward to trying alchemy it isn't really my cup of tea exactly.

As it stands the lodge has two rather niche uses atm. One is very nice if you can use it. The other is a cooking station which seems weird.

I feel weird bothering individual dms to whine about this so  whining about it here for everyone.

Something a little extra to make the prestige dip worth it would be nice. Maybe another prestige store specific to the lodge itself. This is assuming if it has been decided that there still shouldn't be an alchemy table inside anymore.

As it stands its pretty much just a way to trick rubes like me into wasting their prestige points.

So my character Onion, level 5 rogue brought a friend to do the stonebuilder mansion quest in ticker square. Even though we are well within the level range and my character was the one to accept the quest and receive the quest invite token, the character himself was not added to the quest.  I have checked my journal and the quest has not shown up there.

I could not use the quest token on myself either.

SFP was ig and was able to take the token and add me, and I'm pretty sure this is a really strange non replicable bug. Hopefully.

Hey guys, when I make a ranger in the starting area, he won't level up! Rather, I can level up, but it never accepts the level up. Anyone else have this problem? How do I fix it?

Suggestions / Bloodtail Cove bonus quest reward

Hey guys. This is probably one of my favorite quests in the game. I particularly like the bonus mission you can do where it takes into account the combined party's efuss sailing check.

However, and I think I'm not alone in thinking this, it seems that the end reward for that section is a little lackluster.

It's my understanding the final chest used to contain various loot. I'm sure this was changed due to balance and risk/reward issues, but I was wondering if the reward could be changed to something a little more themed towards the quest? Pirate swag would be really awesome to have. The regular portion of the quest does a good job of this. Gold, jewels, and neat sea/reptilian themed loot. To go the extra mile and only get a small cache of potions, (cache seems too generous a word here, to me,) just doesn't feel right.

Thanks for what you do guys.

Last time I did this my rothe wandered off with the emote that it couldn't see me and was therefore beginning to wander. Initially I was stealth ed but when the first warning popped up I exited stealth, only to have the same warning pop up again twice before the danged thing wandered off. I expect it's similar to how some npcs will think you're in stealth when you arent, and thusly this post is probably more cautionary than anything. Cheers

Bug Reports / House of Trade Vault Rental

Hey, not sure what's going wrong here, but I tried to rent Vault 1 and instead was given vault 3, which currently belongs to another character IG. Definately need a fix for this soon too, since I certainly haven't earned the items in here, and more need the items that were lost to the last owner of vault 1.

This has apparently been touched on before, so I'll make it quick.
Bilby's shouldn't have randomly generated crates and placables that block exits, and entrances. I get that maybe people were too good at the regular automated bilby's, but I find that rather surprising. I was never one of those people. It's like randomly deciding whether or not you're basically going to die until the end of the reset, provided no DM is on. (And really, how many of you guys want to spend your time IG pulling my dead corpse out of Bilby's death dungeon?) Even so, that wouldn't be as big of a deal if some of the quest rewards weren't so terrible.

So I recommend this: Keep the loot tables the way they are, and eliminate the random crate placing system that I'm sure someone worked super hard on, OR keep it the way it is and remove any chance of getting the shitty quest rewards.

Cause otherwise it's a ridiculous risk. I didn't know how bad the quest could get, so please, by Gygax, sticky one of these anti-bilby quest posts so us idiots fully know what we're signing up for, at the very least.

I'll probably be gone for the next few days focusing on work and RL shit so I can let things shift back into perspective. Cheers.

Hey! This item says it's supposed to summon a spider? But it doesn't, it summons a cave bat. Which is ok I guess. It's AC is pretty high even if its attack is garbage. Still doesn't make a lot of sense for the item though. Not sure how easily this can be fixed.

That's a wrap folks- a lot of you probably have heard how it went down, I got lucky and Howland happened to be on at the time. If you have not heard it's pretty common knowledge because it happened over the illegal dunwarren sending system.

I have to say, this was the most perfect death I've ever seen and I'm still smiling as I post this.

I suppose what's important to know about Perigo was that he was a hot headed prankster with high intelligence and charisma, but horrible wisdom. Hence his untimely demise. I had some plans for him to descend into madness and anger- because he was a bit of a hot-head, but honestly, I like this ending -way- more.

I'd like to thank Moonlighter for her character of Irith- who inspired me way before I even rolled up Perigo.
Gracken, who's a great player, and RPer, and if any of you havn't had a chance to RP with him, you really should.
Sternhund for helping me breathe some life into the character from the very beginning, at the prelude.
Thomas, for having his character suggest the final song's topic.

Recently I've noticed that this song no longer gives my char the song's boost. It will however give the boost to other chars/summons that hear the song. Not sure if this is a feature or not but it might bear looking into.

I hate taking screenshots, so I didn't.

I don't like doing obituaries too much either, but enough people told me I should, so I decided to do an obituary anyway. I'll try to make it interesting without a wall of text.

Thomas was about 19 years old when he died. He'd spent most of his childhood abused by his parents- his mother had hoped he'd be born human, as she'd been trying to have a child around the same time an orcan tribe had raided her villiage- but alas he was a half-orc, and instead of killing him, he was allowed to live so he could help his stepfather around the forge. (They refused to give him a surname, hence; Mis-Born) He would often be burned by his father's brand if he so much as spoke, or made a mistake. Once he hit puberty, his parents grew afraid and they chained him in the basement. A few years later the end came, and his parents disappeared. He grew so hungry that he broke his chains and wandered the wasteland for food- until he found sanctuary. All he wanted was a new family that wanted him- and he got it.

I'm not at liberty to say how he died, but I can explain why he lived the way he did- he was haunted by nightmares of his past when he first arrived at sanctuary, but eventually, with the help of Mikael Galeno, he conquered his past fears in a dream sequence overseen by Meldread, and was "gifted" with a cursed ring that he could not remove- it was bound to his very soul. The Ring of a True Hero compelled him to heroic acts.

It went on with him into the afterlife, and so I can only assume that he wanders the fugue, looking for the Ascended One, the way, and his fallen mentor, Sigvar.

Hey, I really like these low-charisma reactions from NPCs, but you guys should know that by re-initiating conversation with most of these lets you do the stuff they normally wouldn't let you do via. the first failed convo.

I suggest making these harvestable. Let me list some of the ways this could be interesting.

They would be very risky to harvest from- their seeds and produce would be powerful assets though, so this evens out, I think.

They could be grown for many purposes:

Deadly poison for food and drink, as well as herbalism/alchemy.

Grown around an area that is being protected in some way. My initial thought is gardens- that seems to be a major complaint- no way to protect them. Likewise they could use to keep people away from hideouts, turf, or whatever. The other side of the coin though is that the one who grows them has to have a way to bypass them or survive their deadly spores.

The only con I can think of is folks growing them on transitions, but naturally there would be rules against this, I'm sure.

Bug Reports / Clown Illusion Quest: Pt. 2 Mirror Maze

We were having a lot of issues with this quest. After killing all the maze masters the main portal wouldn't sends us to the corridor leading out, but instead to one of the trapped transition rooms. Likewise the main trapped treasure chests in each room would not unlock. I'm not sure if they were supposed to unlock when the maze master of that room died, or if it's there for a rogue in the party, but it wasn't until we bullied Meldread into opening one up that the main portal started working right. Also, there was no journal entry for entering the maze, and therefore no bonus xp, which I'm told is supposed to be there.

Took a hit that downed my character, but stabilized him at 0. The next instant the fugue screen was loading. The logs say Patrice Vermand killed my character. The creature that had attacked me did not. Vermand was all the way back in sanctuary when this happened as well. Not too sure what happened here.

Bug Reports / Special Elemental Protection Potions

After doing a DM quest, the spellguard gave my character a box of potions that contained a few elemental protection potions that are supposed to be far more effective than the standard elemental protection potions, except with only one element. For example, Protection vs. Cold, or Acid, or Fire.

The Fire one seems to have worked great.

The acid protection potion did not seem to work at all. I checked the logs and I know I didn't get dispelled. Went up against Troll Hags and they made fairly short work of me with acid-based attacks, in spite of drinking the acid potion prior.

Thinking on it now, it should be noted that I'd also drank the cold protection potion, in fear of falling victim to their ice storm spells. Not sure if that messed with the acid protection or not.

In either case, I thought someone should be made aware.

Every time you use a Map Kit, it disappears.

It makes the map just fine, mind you.

After discussing this with some other players OOCly, the general concesus was that it either:

A) Is probably in relation to that bug that makes folks' gold disappear if they place it on the ground, as one has to use the map on the ground in order to make it work.

B) That the map kit disappearing was intentional, so as to make cartography all the more valuable.



If the case is B, I suggest the following: Instead of making it so players have to buy 10 map kits every time they want to do some mapping out of areas, we instead revert back to the old system where a map kit lasts forever, but also make it a lot more expensive. It's just a pain in the neck at the moment.
