Screen Shots & Obituaries / Faye Kendt
February 15, 2013, 07:11:15 PM
Easily my funnest, and most involved character I've had to date on EFU! While she's not quite dead-dead, I am retiring her for the foreseeable future, very possibly for good.

QuoteQuick Description: An unassumingly cocky female warrior. Almost always  has a scythe visible on her person. Speaks with a cockney accent. Has  the definite feel of a former sailor.
I have Fitzwilliam to thank for the brainstorming session that created her. She started off very simply, and ended up dabbling in a number of factions, including Clan Caermyn and the Muster.

But her heart was always in the Shrouded Legion, a totally kickin' rad faction, made even more awesome by JaydeMoon's oversight. We got up to a lot of great, risky stuff! Plenty of great PCs that went unmourned. After the Legion moved on, so did Faye, but she never quite did find a calling that appealed to her like the Legion did.

Plenty of thanks to be made, especially to JaydeMoon for his help and organizing some excellent DM quests. Mira, TOH, Chris, Jagged, HerDarkMajesties (Jules!), the player of Lily Evans, and I suppose no PC of mine would be complete without Caster, who played around three or four PCs during Faye's time. Always a pleasure, with everyone.

Now for the screenshots, in no particular order. These by no means encapsulate all the excellent interactions and interesting sights Faye participated in.

Let it not be said that Zoe wasn't a balls-to-the-wall mayor, personally leading an attack on H'bala's tower with a big stompy golem at the fore. Faye was all sorts of apprehensive about it, but in the end she was right there with everyone else, and one of the few to walk away on her feet. The trauma of fighting the Maiden would follow her for quite a while.

Some vanity action shots.

[hide="Some silly stuff"]

This deer was very probably shot from stealth for meat about twenty seconds later, but before then, it was hardcore.

Towards the end, Faye had precious little tolerance for the town and its many psychotic residents.

She and Lucita were fast friends, as she was with many of the Mustermen  that she had previously looked down upon for not being Legionnaires. Also a rare shot of Faye in her DM loot armor before it was stolen.

[hide="Some ambient shots"]

Faye was an ever present figure at Zoe's speeches. Most of the time nothing happened. Most of the time.

Faye was prone to flights of contemplation and fancy, often lingering in secluded places to think. One such place was the Order priory ruins, which she helped burn down.

Not sure why I took this, but I thought it looked nifty. She turned out to seriously distrust and despise these guys.

[hide="Loot!"]

Faye was my first PC to get some nifty toys to play with. Her scythe in particular was a dream come true, earned during the Axirios saga. There is no greater thing in life than getting a scythe crit.

Her armor was to die for. Luckily, she didn't end up dying for it when it got stolen not long after she'd gotten it. She looked like Darth Vader's wife for a few days.

[/hide]

[hide="Events"]

This doesn't nearly cover all the great and game changing things Faye witnessed; I still need to remember when to take screenshots.

A particularly harrowing fey-court. Thanks to ShadowCharlatan for this! Not shown; the most hardcore game of musical chairs ever, or Arnold getting his arm blown off.

Menaster Caermyn's death. Despite having been an associate out of loyalty for Zoe, Faye's dedication started and ended with the former mayor. She shed no tears for the patriarch's death. Also, Molly snorting coke.

That's about it. See ya on the next PC, gents and ladies.

Bug Reports / Shark Guide, Abyssal Plains
December 13, 2012, 04:41:14 PM
So, without going into too much detail, I've noticed that the Shark Guide on this map can be very easily killed by random shark spawns. Is this an oversight, or are you guys fine with this happening? Perhaps give him some potions to protect him from the dangerous spawns?

Figured I'd bring it up, as this can effectively strand a PC in a dangerous place if they don't know the layout. Thanks.

Is dead.

Thanks to Ghostii, Caster13, Sponduli, Griggs and plenty of others for making this fun character possible.

I actually took screenshots this time! Unfortunately, 66% of them are sad.

Her death. In the end, she had nothing left to live for.

A tender moment with her love before the end.

And, uh. Then there's this silly shit. If it's too blurry, that's a rat sitting down with us.

See ya on Rannie.

Off-topic Discussion / "Poor Violet" - Violet Colton
April 14, 2012, 11:32:19 PM
Took no screenshots, unfortunately, but I encourage you all to post any with her!

Violet's dead. She was a very emotional, passionate sorceress with an impressive string of romantic tragedies culminating in Sarisa Verawyn. As for how that turned out, it's a secret!

I'd like to thank the departed player of Herostrat, for doing his damndest to bring a chaotic, emotionally frazzled girl in line and being her brother figure.

Caster, for obvious reasons.

All my buddies from MSF for being the best band of bustahs around and keeping her safe during adventures with awesome characters.

CluelessNoob, Sponduli for Carmella and Conrad. XCR for Rade, Violet's one ray of love and happiness that kept her going. Pandip, for Caerseil, one of Violet's true friends and loved ones.

Tammy, for Shael and Aria, enabling her crippling neurosis. Love ya!

And thank you, to the DMs who gave me that closure. It means the world to me.

Hoping I play a slightly less depressing PC next, but I wouldn't have given this up for anything. In the end, she was happy.

 See ya on the next character.

All dead at the hands of the Conclave - guys, feel free to add your own eulogies.

For my part, Adrian... hm. Adrian led a short, complicated existence on Ymph, and he was just starting to really transform - perhaps for the better, perhaps not - when he was killed. He always wanted to be remembered - hopefully in the act of dying in search of a friend, his wish would be fulfilled.

And, if not, then he died with the satisfaction of knowing he'd tried to do something good for once in his life.

BUT ENOUGH ABOUT THAT! Afterlife's a really swinging place, guys. Take a look:

See you guys around!
