Circle of Death

During a DM event yesterday, my character Calin Kross, and Jack Bundy as well, were hit by what appeared to be a Circle of Death spell from an Ogre High Mage.


I don't know what level Jack was but Calin Kross was level 9, and the Circle of Death spell is not supposed to affect creatures of 9HD or higher, but the DC 23 fortitude save vs death still rolled against me in the combat logs.

The spell was changed a long time ago to work on higher levels, and I think it is 9 or lower now. I don't see it listed in the spell changes however.
