are you saying you spent 1500 euros on a computer that has trouble running some current games as far as i remember, in 2007?

The reason is because you need to move all the green discs to the center pillar.

I think the potion uses are pretty straightforward and don't think it's out of line most adventurers are well versed in them, save the more exotic ones, which are already more or less unknown. Naturally if a person wants to RP not knowing about potions it's on that person.

I doubt this will be met with anything but overwhelming disagreement, but:

To be honest I do not think people should really be faulted for having fun and chatting in a public chat room.

I know new players should really be given a good impression. Welcoming them and shaping up should be a given. Forcing everyone to act like drones is going to just rid one problem while creating another.

While there are limits like absurdly overwhelming spam, or behavior that is just completely disruptive and malicious beyond a shadow of a doubt, if people are getting 'irritated' and 'turned off,' then it should fall to them to not look at what bothers them. I can definitely understand that though really it is seldom.

If I see or hear something in real life, I turn my head or walk away and I do not see/hear it anymore.

It is even easier to skip over single offending lines in an online chat room and move on instead of crying and taking it too seriously, with all due respect, though naturally I will understand and accept reasonable DM wishes and intentions.

Well, personally I do not think it's cool to have certain people to act a certain way just because you don't really fancy it, but can understand the impact it can have on new players. It is not really a specific group/person that does it. ;)

Regardless, as Howland said, despite this, people in the 'category' are more than willing to shape up to welcome a new person (usually). I think that ensuring a new player that a lot of the tomfoolery there is in complete jest and we are actually all talking about a game, meant to help each other have fun, helps a lot rather than forcing everyone to some sort of code of conduct.

There's obviously a lot of little things that could help along new folks in familiarizing them with the website and style of EFU:A, and that is great that those things are or are going to be implemented.

Really, I think the best thing is alerting veteran players here that helping newer folks goes a long way, regardless of whether it's a PC or a DM. I know when I was new and people were actually going out of their way to help me I was genuinely impressed.

A simple tell to acknowledge who you assume is a new person, that you're more than willing to answer any and all questions to the best of your ability that they have, and to help them out, doesn't seem like much initially; but when a lot of people do it together the new player will obviously recognize this for the actually welcoming community it is. (even behind the jaded rude behavior of some IRCers and other mofos)

You can always at the least direct them to the right place to look or someone else anyways. (#efu: x is new help him/her usually seems surprisingly productive)

It's pretty cheesy, but it's just one of those 'do your part' things, in my opinion.

Bug Reports / Parrot Familiar Spells
April 21, 2010, 10:49:58 PM
Sorry if this is not a bug, or FOIG, but I believe it to be unintended.

Upon level 4 and beforehand, my parrot familiar was able to cast eagle's splendor once a day, and color spray once a day.

Upon level 5 and thereafter, my parrot is able to cast eagle's splendor zero times a day, and color spray twice a day.

This seems unintentional to me. If not, then please ignore/delete this.
