Though many others took the bullets for him while pinning down the masses,

smugly do I announce Durain Atek: safe and sound.

Could be either of these options, where you can answer 1. and the men behind the curtains 2 & 3. Would be cool if it did work that way.

1. You don't have the Extend Spell feat and thus it does not sync;
2. extended spells are (un / intentionally) not recognized;
3. bug!

Np. George Lucas and Stieven Spielberg raping Indiana Jones!

Screenshots would brighten my day, so you're sticking true to Shar once more =).

1. If you choose the Empower Spell feat then yes, lower level spells can become more powerful.
2. Without the empower spell feat, lower level spells are less powerful
3. Isaac's is still more powerful than empowered magic missile at any level  >  L7 isaacs vs mm: (1d6 x 7 vs. 1d4 x 1.5 x 4).
4. ... I could go on for a while.

Basically, all spells have their uses if you use them right. Some are more powerful than others. You don't need to use them all. Use the ones you like or fit your concept and settle for the fun fact that you're not optimized if you want to.

It's more of an excuse to stop people from teleporting close to or away from Mistlocke as an escape mechanism, as was my understanding.

I am not debating otherwise HP. It's also very easy to stomp a small courtesy suggestion into the ground by using a very frivlous example against it.

Letting the player know with something as simple as 'No time', 'No', or 'OK' does not  take a second, and it will help both the player and DM in assuring that the message got across. I am told that the DMs monitor so much things at once that these messages often slip by them. If you notify them, and they ended up reading over it, then who is helped by that?

Just my two cents.

Ps. I don't want to constantly repeat myself in the DM channel with the same question / notification in fear of being considered a spammer. That is why it helps to be acknowledged in any sort of way.

Good you point it out again. What has been a small source of bother for me personally though is that my DM messages in those situations are not usually responded to. A simple nod to acknowledge that the message has been read is something I for one would appreciate lots.

I also noticed that the difference in DC was not significant when I played Johnny. Did not give it much pause back then.
