I can vouch for this. Doesn't happen often but it can be pretty disheartening when the swarm of enemies all stay at uninjured after an avalanche falling on them!

QuoteUsing an old ATI Radeon HD 4550, which should be plenty to play this game. Its updated to the latest driver.

Do you have the AMD Catalyst Control Center installed? I've noticed it can effect performance in NWN.

I'd suggest uninstalling it it. Specifically, run the latest AMD graphics driver installation program to uninstall everything AMD related, then run it again, select a custom installation, but don't have CCC installed.

If that doesn't work also try downgrading the drivers to something from a few years ago.

Whether a character has the ability to climb easily (and perhaps not all characters should be able to!) emphasizes how terrain and the ability to traverse it is a key resource, a strength/weakness factor that should have an impact on your character.

A melee warrior should not have an easy time chasing down a roof running thief. Nor should every character be able to see every nook and cranny of the Underdark by climbing all over the place like a spider. Just as druids and rangers have an advantage in the wilds, some characters concepts should have a disadvantage with climbing/accessing certain environments/overcoming certain obstacles.

The many ways to boost your climbing skills provides a variety of options of how to overcome the obstacle that is a sheer cliff, but overcoming obstacles shouldn't be easy or without sacrifice.

And of course gnomes make for terrible climbers, they're ridiculously short!

Quote from: Vlaid;375062A great example for Spellguard Agents to follow. Enjoyed him immensely for his brevity of word that always managed to convey the weight of an Agent thoroughly. I have a single screenshot to contribute of working diligently with him to solve Sanctuary's emergencies:

You guys are playing Monopoly, aren't you?

I was going to report this but you beat me to it!

But I got screenshots!

Curiously, the harvested poison glands also have a different name conflicting with what's listed in the combat log:

I think chat logging resolves this issue well enough.

Racing spiders and grove spiders still remain.

It is something I recall happening with other creatures but the deep lizard is an example that happens all the time so I figured it's one way to narrow the search in case any DM cares to take a look into the issue.

An alternative suggestion: add a bit more space between the two placeables. Obviously not too far apart.

What an odd thing to say.

To note: it seems your video drivers can play a huge factor in affecting the transition loading speed. Using my adventures as an example, I was previously using drivers for my Radeon HD card that were released back in 2012. It would take me approximately five seconds to load an area. I updated to AMDs latest drivers for the Radeon HD cards and that increased loading times from five to ten seconds.

Finally, I uninstalled Catalyst Control Center and installed the oldest Radeon HD drivers I could find (ones released back in 2011) and that dropped my loading time to two seconds.

I saw something recently that really surprised me: (spoiler) talking to (spoiler). I expected the two to start wailing on each other but it turns out they were too busy discussing a DM/NPC plot!

It's not the most ideal solution as it does require a fair bit of DM attention/involvement, but sometimes PCs of opposing factions can be lead towards the realization that they need the help/advice/participation of supposed enemies to solve problems.

For example:
-Some great, dangerous threat endangering the people of both Lower and Upper Sanctuary
-A group of Upper and Lower NPCs (Doctors-without-Borders-esque group of Ilmatari, researchers, traveling bard troupe) who need help with something
-Some sort of structural/geological event where a portion of Upper Sanctuary is close to collapsing on Lower Sanctuary.
-A Romeo and Juliet scenario

These sorts of interaction, of course, also serves as opportunities for supposed enemies to form a sense of respect for one another. At the same time, it also provides an opportunity for hard-line PCs who are wholly dedicated to one faction or another to make a mess of things.

I agree that yanking an entire pack to take a great amount of items from it shouldn't be something that happens easily and quickly. But "yanking" a pack to take a specific item sorta should.

I put "yanking" in quotation marks in the second instance because while a) tearing off a pack and rummaging through it and b) simply opening it to take a single item are two vastly different actions, in terms of mechanics and the game engine, they currently force the same motions.

I just want to add: it seems that all of the speed reduction bugs that I've seen (from water transitions, web spells, grease, spells, etc.) can be debugged via the casting of a freedom of movement on the character.
