I've found that the majority of players play along with my character's disguise, although he uses it incredibly sparingly and I change my description fully for it.  I also make it quite clear that he is deliberately hiding his face.  Still - Here's my thoughts on the matter:

It's one thing if you change your description, change everything about your appearance, aren't wearing your Sanctuary ring, and you simply walk through "hostile" territory.  I'd imagine most players, on seeing a black-clad thug with a helmet on walk through Lower, won't be like OMG that's obviously XYZ from Upper let's kill him/her.  On the other hand, I don't think if an established Upper character decided to go around questing with Lowerspeople in a disguise...they'd adventure and fight with him/her without noticing their identity.  It depends on the extent of roleplay.

I don't think skills play into it that well.  I don't care how good your spot is, if you've never met the character before you can't discern who it is, if they're wearing a helmet you can't see their face.  Even if you said "my spot is so good I can tell from your muscular build", I'd disagree.  Also, it doesn't take bluffing skills to be able to dress differently and put on a helmet.

QuoteAllow factions to gain favor that provide then the essential potions,  even if in small quantities. In this way any group the Dms deems as  powerful would be able to generate these potions through behavior  appropriate to their faction. Nothing wrong with letting a faction guy  sell off some potions to his starved buddies, who may or may not want to  get in on that action themselves.

This is already in place for some factions and for all of Upper Sanctuary through the new baubilium favor vendor.  Maybe extending it to other factions would be a solution.

For healing specifically (and this is totally self-serving because it's the only thing I actually know about on this server) - I'd suggest removing the cooldown on herbalism-brewing serious curing.  It takes enough resources to warrant the price and, while they could be "mass produced", it'd take hours to gather the materials to make as many as a cleric could make in one rest and a trip to the House of Trade.

I forgot to mention in my above post but I really, really appreciated Bodoc as a portrayal of the halfling race.  Very, very few times during my 10+ years on NWN RP servers do I look like a halfling and say "hey, that guy portrays the race well."  It seems everyone and their mother thinks that halflings are great evil assassins because +2 Dex.  I've seen more evil-aligned and villainous halflings than any other non-human race, including half-orcs.

Bodoc, in my opinion, correctly portrayed halflings as a happy, friendly character intent to prove that halflings are underestimated because of their size.  For this reason, I think Bodoc was a gem as far as halflings go.

I almost never get a chance to quest, but I've found the newer quests seem to give a high volume of consumables/potions as opposed to gold.  Am I wrong?

I have to say this character was well-done because my usually stoic researcher absolutely hated everything about her after less than 10 seconds of interaction.  Every time I made a plan or alliance, she wound up killing or infecting my allies. Mikael spent a good three days IG just plotting ways to piss her off.

QuoteTbh why not let it just be DM spice myconid absorbs. Npcs etc.

This makes a fair bit of sense to me.  The race is lonely enough, why make advancement contingent upon perming the few other characters you get to interact with?

Really was looking forward to getting to know Falgrim better, sad I won't get that chance now.  He was quite epic from the battles I did fight alongside him.

I will definitely miss the Bodoc interactions.  Great character.

I truly wish I had been around to further develop plots with you guys.  My character was a big supporter despite being your "enemy".  Spellguard v. Deep Imaskari interactions were just amazing. Zaneros Valstag and Issachar Zakur are character names I'm not likely to ever forget.  Well done.

QuoteAn optional way for players to attain high levels that doesn't involve questing or dms watching over their shoulders 24/7.

This would indeed be wonderful.

Also, at the risk of making suggestions that are self-beneficial, some of the nerfs to the alchemy/herbalism system have been a bit too great.  A lot of items are not that powerful and have 1 week cooldowns, on top of being incredibly dangerous to make.  Some items weigh 5-10 pounds and therefore cannot be realistically used (on top of their dangerousness and cooldown).  Many items are usable by sorc/wizard only which -hardly- makes sense when a non-wizard/sorc is the one crafting the item.

I don't mind the long cooldowns to prevent mass-production/abuse of powerful items.  It is rather disappointing, however, when I risk death/perm, use expensive ingredients, and wind up with an item that casts a meh spell once on a one-week cooldown that I can't even use.

The alchemy/herbalism system is one of the greatest on EfU.  Neverwinter Nights is 12 years old now.  I'm fairly sure many of us have played every class and dozens of interesting concepts over the years.  Custom systems and kits like EfU has is one of the things that keeps the game fresh and awesome.

Hate to thread necro this but...oh my god.  Please do not weight-nerf.  Weight nerf is the absolute worst thing I've seen so far.  Finally being able to make something cool, just to realize it's been nerfed and now weighs too much so I can never carry it around.

The #1 most frustrating thing about alchemy is the encumbrance.  I figured non-zero strength and almost no equipment would leave 80 pounds for stuff - yet I'm always encumbered.

Please for the love of god, either remove weight nerfs or don't do it anymore!

I don't remember my first day on EfU.  It was 8 or so years ago when I was in high school so...I'm going to give my best friend's story.

This was in the original EfU.  My friend logs in as a fighter and we do some lowbie quests.  I can hardly remember them now but I'm pretty sure there were zombies in a warehouse?  Anyway I go to my friend and I'm like, hey how much coin you got?  He's new to roleplaying so he says "360...hmm...maybe they'll name a weird machine thing after that number someday."  I laugh.  He runs off.  Gets killed by a Flying Chosen Mage.  He says "WTF did I just die to a flying rat?", I say yes, and he never played NWN again.

I'm afraid that things have really picked up for me IRL and that I really don't have time currently to devote to a serious PC.  I apologize to the DMs that took the time to look over my application.

I hope that someday in the future the slimy mechanations of Zlovol Kraaj will be able to be brought to EfU in full.

Hate to bring up an old thread but using summoning items still dismisses your animal companion.  Almost learned this the hard way!

Only issue with increasing duration is that most enchantment spells are PvP win buttons.  If you hit someone with charm person or hold person, they lost.  Done.  Over.  Doesn't need a boost for PvP.

The problem with enchantment casters is that they're pretty useless PvE.  Especially from what I've seen so far on EfU (where many quest's difficulty is based on high numbers of enemies rather than very tough boss enemies), enchantment casters aren't really going to be anyone's first choice for questing or most DM events.

If there's a way to make enchantments better for PvE without making them ridiculously overpowered in PvP, that might be worth it.
