This is a bug or otherwise unintentional as far as I am aware. The Hardcore prelude is simply meant to be that--a more difficult prelude, that should you die during, you cannot get up, with level 4 as the cap for it. It is simply an unfortunate side effect that when these PCs fall below the level range after the prelude that they require a DM to get them back up.

I'll probably be scarce or gone entirely until about Sunday, though reachable on IRC. Merry Christmas, EFU.

I don't think the spawns in either the Crossroads or the Low Roads are too dangerous or terrible. They should not, however, be enemies spawning directly within range of aggression any of the transitions, which is a pretty big problem in many cases.

I think there used to be a lot more directly on the gate-to-crossroads transition and they were moved. Perhaps the same should be done in the Low Roads.

The Boatman still does not spawn when one goes to the island, leaving no method of departure if one fails the first phase.

Whatever will EFU:R do without its true protagonist? I mean come on, look at this cover.

Eileen was another one of my favorite characters to meet and interact with, one of the few that honestly made me forget I'm roleplaying in a videogame sometimes. I look forward to seeing what you cook up next.

Its always a joy to see such a consistently and well played character, and just watching where it takes him. Given the seeming rarity of his characterization, in characters being good for the sake of goodliness, it was interesting to see where it took him, particularly as he was promoted to a Sergeant of the Watch! He was definitely one of my favorite characters to regularly interact with to date.

I'll probably get around to dumping a metric ton of screenshots here eventually, but for the moment I'll have to settle for this, as a remarkable number of interactions boiled down to it:

Juggling OOC obligations and big character goals can be a right pain in the ass sometimes. I enjoyed the few interactions I had with Ezra while he was getting too old for this crap.

I look forward to your next PC, who presumably will be just old enough!

I'll have to echo BoR's sentiments. It was great to watch Rekh's transition from a seedy day one thug, to a cripple, to a prophet, to the leader of a diverse PC faction that has the potential to outlive the character. Even while being extremely busy IRL, you managed to be around enough to bring a lot of flavor to the server through him.

You did a hell of a good job with Yorrick, Thomas. It was a pleasure to interact with such a consistently played long term character from start to finish, though I can certainly understand why you'd be itching to move onto something else! Its always a delight to see characters that aren't focused on being the biggest badass around, but instead just wanting to eke out some measure of existence following the apocalypse--and Yorrick did quite well, even with an eye and a leg missing!

[Hide=Humble Origins] What could have been...

[Hide=Getting to know Yorrick] Despite their differences and apparent polar opposition, they did have occasion to understand each other!

Though the means through which they did were not always polite...

Yorrick occasionally had Celia's back.

[Hide=Out in the Dark]

[Hide=Scandalous Dates] If only Sanctuary's career gossips knew...

They occasionally had the odd third wheel.

[Hide=Day in Court] "Why is Yorrick up there?"

[Hide=Yorrick's Victory] [/Hide]

I'm going to miss him! I look forward to your next concept, however, surely one that will further hasten Celia's graying process...

I'm almost certain I've received Wage in the illusion.

Unless I'm mistaken, songs do continue to get more powerful after level 8, its just that level 8 is the peak of them getting stronger, and everything else after that isn't as noticeable. Might just be a matter of semantics that its just not strong enough to make it worth continuing to take levels as a bard.

I think a select few songs could or perhaps even should be buffed, given a tendency for the same two or three to be spammed to death when there are dozens available in EFU. I don't believe that +1 APR being returned to certain songs is the answer--its not as though pure Fighters get any such thing until level 11 themselves.

I'm not otherwise sure bards should be given any more mechanical power given, as has already been pointed out, they're already an incredibly strong class for something that was originally a support in NWN.

Plus, they get to use wands.

A great character! I wish I had the chance to interact with her more frequently, though timezones have conspired against it. Even so, it was a pleasure to watch her character arc from afar.
