I think the danger and uncertainty is supposed to be part of it in purpose?  Still if it not, I've a tweak on your idea to suggest?

This sounds like a lot of extra work for the DMs as they would be called in to supervise constantly.  What about the same idea with the gargoyles but no DM required for PvP but ICly word is spread that dispensary murder is disfavored and OCCASIONALLY a DM possesses one to show this disfavor?  Thus people can still murder and such and it is not "safe", without needing much DM time but also reducing the murders?

General Discussion / Re: V5 Feedback Thread

There has been no lack of conflict this chapter but I find it fun and interesting.  Change can be exciting.  I can't agree with the post above enough.  Pretty pretty pretty please with cherries on top do not change it back to a situation where groups are forced to be mortal enemies ready to stab each other by default.  Right now the Peers/Ponds/Tickers already have plenty of reason to dislike each other and fight, I'd very much like to not see it moved to a state of permanent warfare as was often the case for Lower/Upper/Vaults.  Not always of course, but there were long periods of open warfare and things were rarely more than two steps away.

I think a persistent stat penalty that lasts a serious amount of real life time for their death is actually a very interesting ome, if viable without a lot of work?  If imagine it might be tough to make it persist across resets though.

While I do not know for sure, this seems to happen when people log off before the timer finishes?  Even if we can't fix this bug(it may be hard to fix) could we add a warning to the rent dialogue, prominently, in a special color and caps to NOT log off while the stall is rented, because it will  bug it out until the next reset?

One stall was working a short time ago, while two others were bugged.  Someone rented it and used it but logged before it finished and now it is bugged.

Kind of further encourages people to coordinate oocly, if anything.  This'll mostly just inconvenience  players who don't have an ooc clique of friends to play with.   Not sure where this anti-sending sentiment came from all of a sudden but it seems really unnecessary.   While sending wars are obnoxious, maybe just punish those who lower the quality of the atmosphere with privilege revocations like in past settings?
Other people have said it more eloquently but I agree with this 100%.  This chapter is very hard, which is fine, it is fun, but all this does is encourage people to OOC coordinate more when there is already a very large incentive to do so due to limited supplies.

I can honestly say that in chatting with new players twice recently and trying to be welcoming, they privately expressed frustration at the inability to find quests or stuff to do, one said they "finished" EFU because they could not find groups which I found very troubling.  I gave them some guidance on how to find or make a group but still, I don't feel that is ideal.

This feels like a solution to a problem which does not exist and causes very real problems, making it harder to involve people and encouraging OOC coordination.

I don't understand what the problem this is supposed to be addressing.  Stopping "quest trains"?  They still happen, people just coordinate without sendings, leaving others behind and thus excluding new players.  Stopping "sending wars"?  I think there has to be better ways to do that than making sendings prohibitively expensive.

It is unclear exactly what, but something is happening to seemingly sometimes cause market stalls to but out and not be rentable, they seem stuck based upon who rented them last.  Maybe it happens if someone rents a stall and is logged out when the timer would expire? But if that is the cause, I do not know.  For example, right now every market stall is bugged, but people seemed to be using them earlier.

General Discussion / Re: Past EFU "Winners"

The first post asked for people who by some sense "won" previous chapters.  Would someone who achieved a possibly singularly unique goal in the current chapter still qualify?

Without spoiling what occurred, might Saevel Raedrimn and possibly those with him for their final moments as PCs qualify?

Exciting things are afoot! The Heavens themselves re-align! If you think elven excitement is over, oh my goodness you've no idea how wrong you are! There has very possibly NEVER been a better time to make an elf than now!  Elven excellence is only beginning!

Screen Shots & Obituaries / Re: Kassava Glynvellin

I wish I had something more insightful to say but alas!  Kassava was a truly excellent character and for the time we could, I truly enjoyed playing beside her!  Her dying is sad, but seeing her pick her side with elves in the very, very end and going with them makes me truly happy.

Elfy Things are happening.  Things with an uppercase T.  And also Stuff.  Elven Stuff.  Exciting things occur.  There may very possibly have NEVER been a better time to make an elf.  Or a half elf, as the Sentinels are fairly open minded in that regard.  So.  With a quarter of the server having died this week, make your next PC an elf and join the Sentinels!  It is fun and you can get in on both the Things and the Stuff!
