Quote from: Lenthis;213601I suggest you go on IRC and have a 1 on 1 with one of our excellent wilderness survivalists.

This is your best bet.  Generally, mechanical discussion is avoided on the forums.  But if you ask around in IRC, I'm sure someone would point you in the right direction.  Also, welcome to the server!

Ortega,

Pissed in the shrine of Targus, and got away with it.

As one who quests a lot, I love it when a DM decides to randomly spice up a quest I'm on.  Especially when the spice becomes more than just creating extra mobs (although that's fine too!).

One of my fond memories of the UD is doing the old goblin fort quest with a PC goblin in our group.  The goblins holed themselves up in the chamber room and offered us a huge sum of gold to hand over the goblin PC with us (so that they could execute him as a traitor).  We entertained the notion for a while but ended up crushing their barricade anyways.

Point is, spice is awesome.

It's working as intended; your perception of the Tanglefoot Bag is simply incorrect.  The Tanglefoot is actually a small creature living inside of a bag, and when you throw him he casts entangle upon the first thing he makes contact with.  Hence the spell mechanic of the device.

I would also like to see the quest limit on non-fedex quests removed.

I'm pretty sure you didn't upset anyone personally.  But if you received any kind of negative feedback for anything, it was probably for language.  I know it's hard in PvP circumstances when emotions are running high, but it's always important to keep things tasteful and appropriate.  As far as everything that happened IC, that was entirely fine.

Mirrina relating her dream in the Velvet Mask Theater was my favorite story.  Her brewing will be missed.

Tonight was pretty good, except our party got spikes during the gnoll boss fight.  Screen froze for about 20 seconds.  Unfroze to a loading screen.

When Al-zhara the Trader offers you his delivery quest with the Ugly Goblin Figurine, he doesn't tell you where to take it.  He just stops mid-sentence.

I can alt-tab out fine, but when I alt-tab back in, the screen gets broken up into chunks and mixed around like scattered puzzle pieces.  But if I switch in from the the task manager, I can usually get it fixed after one or two tries.

Aside from the technical issue, I think this would be an interesting implementation.  I'd prefer it more for flavor, however, than any necessity.

For reasons already stated (particularly by Gippy) I think lowering ECL or removing it altogether would be fine, as long as the prevalence of uncommon races remains consistent with previous standards.

QuoteIf you required a diamond to raise dead, you may as well just have random drops of Raise Dead scrolls or more DM quests to spawn them, as the overall effect would be similar.

The point of requiring diamonds wouldn't be to give free raises whenever desirable (which Raise Dead scrolls do).  It would just be a far more interesting way to regulate scripted raises.

QuoteFinally, EfU:A is HARD. really hard. So why, *why* do people keep putting up suggestions to make it harder?

Most suggestions that would make the server more difficult are made to increase realism or immersion in the setting.  If for instance raises only cost 700 gold, there wouldn't be any reason for ANY member of the Ziggurat to remain dead from an unnatural death.  After all, if an NPC guard died during a Nightriser attack, who wouldn't dish out 700 gold to bring the bravado back?  But if the necessary components to bring him back were highly uncommon and unavailable to the citizens, then his death could be truly mourned.
