OMG.  Funniest post EVER. Might need some tweaking though.

Second that.  Buying bundles of herbs would be fitting alongside the bundles of axes and bottles.  There is even already a "bundle of medicines" item to use!

Understanding that the quest take limit is there for a reason and that current scripting makes it impossible, how about a compromise? Could the log file or whatever it is that holds the count of how many times PCs have done a quest be globally reset across the server, say, quarterly?  Most characters last nowhere near that long but it would give those of us who try to keep single PCs alive for extended periods something to do, especially when deleveled.  I've never done Zif because IC I have never found it and no one has ever asked me to go. Mazes is similar - done it maybe twice, but again no one ever asks to go.

Ran through this with the change to keep us off the spawn point. Nicely done, thank you. Archers still tend to cluster some but it's at least more of a challenge now. Thank you.

Agreed. Climbing up should be hard without equipment. My only ongoing irritation was trying to climb down, receiving falling damage after a fail, and still being stuck at the top of a cliff.

I second that. One type of kit for regular, one for improved, and one for supreme.

Part of me likes the low amount of healing items available because now all those points I put into healing skill have some use. On a good roll, I'm healing 25-30 damage for 6 gp. Yes it takes a while, but it's cheap. With that said, I do think there is a place for a tad more healing drops since the bags are NOT a good solution in combat and even with full buffs up, I've been seeing people take some serious hits. And like others have said, there is a weird paradoxical hoarding of higher level curing items that occurs in some lower level quests that drop CSW items and even more CMW. One solution is to save up and buy a wand, but those can still be hard to get. One innovative PC a few weeks ago took up a collection from the adventuring party to purchase a healing wand before they headed out. Genius!

I can confirm this as well.  BUT, I accidentally found that when I set a player tool to the Dwarf Power, it did work.  Try that.

Concur. I thought the loot drop was a little weak, especially given the large number of dead bodies to be looted. In fact, as I recall it from previous runs, there should have been some more flavored items in there; I surmised someone skimmed the loot when I saw how little was laid out.

The XP was decent but not what I would call spectacular. Bringing in bounties pays way more dividend than we got there.  But, ultimately it's about fun and it is a fun quest.

I too miss Vrazdn. One possible solution may be to enable one of the relatively new merchant spawn NPCs to be Hunter Lemuj who can offer the quest, similarly to the snakes quest that is now only available through having the "right" mist path spawn. Lemuj has come down from the mountains offering some goldstones to some schmuck adventurers to clear the place. But it would be rare!

Sternhund for humor and BoM for random spice. But I'm biased in that Sternhund hasn't been involved in many of my spice encounters and BOM has - probably a time zone thing. Or Sternhund hates dwarves. I'm hoping it's time zone though ;)

We're still alive and well, with a recent influx of new blood across a lot of different timezones based on the new "obviously dwarf" names I'm seeing on EFUSL when I cannot get on to interact with them.

If you go dwarf and associate yourself with the Delving, be sure to request forum access and let us know you're around.  With Christmas break coming down the pike, we'll be looking to try a few dwarf-heavy plot pieces if we can get enough manpower.

Thanks for the clarification - I always looked for converts, but it seems other than other clerics, darn near everyone already followed my god.  LOL

Followup question:

So, I have had a great run of luck for a while and not had any deaths all the way through my last level, collecting prayers all along the way.  The holy symbol got gradually stronger and stronger.

Then, when I leveled last the symbol was gone and replaced with one that was base level - no powers of any kind.  I also received a new prayer book.  Nowhere during the previous level did I see any loss of power, though at one time I DID receive a duplicate symbol with identical powers to my main one.

Now, I receive a new prayer book at each reset.  I have collected few prayers since there haven't been many dwarves on the last few times I've played and I ONLY take prayers from dwarves, so I cannot speak as to whether or not the new symbol is working properly.

Is this a bug or a feature?  I'm just trying to be sure my hard-fought-for symbol (not many dwarves to get prayers from) is working properly.  I understand a gradual reversion of a holy symbol if you are not constantly taking in prayers, but a reset back to base was a shocker.

Character: Ferrous Ironeater

Thanks for clarifying!

I was part of this most recent run as well and concur that the reward was weak in terms of the loot. Potions were comparable to the well and I really don't recall seeing any permanent loot items in the pile per se.

If Mort's comment about nerfing the well was made to silence the feedback here, I also concur that if overall reward in bogs is as intended, then yes the well does need to scale back the reward. It is a huge xp award and good potions haul as is. And yes the little random lizard man lair we found was less work, less wither, and just as much loot as we had in the bogs. It was lower in xp and no coin though.
