To be fair I was involved in this event as well I had literally logged in to find someone my char is friends with being dragged off in chains in front of me so I did what I thought my char would do and got perma'd for it. As for loot the most impressive thing my char had was a wand of cure light wounds whereas most people seem to have entire bags full of magic potions of blur strength and the like. So yeah pvp for me is not fun. I also then find out that people in the bar that were killed earlier in the pvp are raised and that the ones that were taken away in chains people are trying to rescue with if not dm support there certainly not saying they cant do that. My char? fed to the fish so it seems that just about the only person permad in the whole thing was me.

Also since it a random spawn (except for the helmet) I've had occasions were I've only gotten maybe 2 cure minor potions and a brass wand. Sometimes you get really good, sometimes you get really bad. I say leave it the way it is.

Is there any problem with being a member of a faction (Dm or player) but supporting the philosophy of someone outside that faction or even a different one.

I ask because my Char Nikki is in the Militia (One of the banner NPC'S is a member as well) but she is supporting the seeker Philosophy? is that liable to be a problem?

Well to add my two cents to the pot in regards to factions. First I would like to say I'm not trying to put anyone down or criticise anyone I'm just saying what I have observed. The thing with these factions is if there is not a big NPC Part advertising them then my character makes judgement based on what the Pc's of that group do. Unfortunately from my interactions with a lot of the Pc's as far as Nikki is Ic concerned there all pretty much the same. Ooc I know the factions are different but I'm just not getting that feeling in game.

My animal companion cant be talked to. Seemed to happen right after it went from being a cave prowler back to leapord.

Certainly Ill have my next gold lvl 3 char begin buying Esp potions that he clearly has plenty of gold to afford. Also as for getting a group tried it Most players don't want to walk around risking there necks while one person picks up a pile of wooden logs.

Scotty used the hook horror analogy and I feel I should point out that yes if you went the wrong way you ran into them but you weren't going to run into them walking into town hall to deliver a pie to herald Jaffar which is what the case is at the moment. They spawn right next to two of the delivery quests one a low lvl one the other low to mid.

Other area where they seem to spawn is on top of where you go for two of the low lvl errand quests. Seems to be a bit much for a lvl 3 going for pile of lumber only to be death attacked by two of them (happend to me)  and to be honest how many people are going to be willing to form a group to guard one person who wants to pick up said wooden logs? Also they seem to be able to cast hold person as well

To be fair the rescue was from what I can tell entirly Pc driven since a whole bunch went down to get them out and if they hadn't it wouldn't have occured.

Well was the problem before people having lvl's of x class 2 ranger and just spamming the track skill or was it just a general problem? If its the first maybe just raising the lvl you get track to lvl 3 or 4?

Not sure if its possible but how about tying track directly into either the search or spot skill? Basically when you track you make a dc check (something like base of 15 plus if possible opponents hide) to find them if you fail you cant do it again (in the same way if you fail a lore check on certain quests you cant just spam lore till you get it right).

Well comparing it to the default here are the pro's and con's

New version pro's

Better Armour class of 2 than default
Slightly better Dex (20 instead of 19)
Better Con (15 instead of 11)
Weapon finesse (so better chance to hit)

Cons

6 Less Hp (even though it has a better con?)
Has 1d6 sneak attack compared to the default  4d6
Losses Uncanny dodge
Less Str (13 instead of 16

A trend ive noticed thats becoming annoying is selective party choosing where you have a party intntionaly choosing the most suitable classes for the quest and refusing everyone else. I also hate the entire we only have 4 people and thats enough mentality even though its a max 8 person quest. I mean if a charecter has every Ic reason to follow you why should an Ooc mechanic stop him from doing it. (If its following to pvp thats a diffrent thing altogether)
