I know this has been addressed to a point, but the search function doesn't like any 3-letter words like "dye", so I couldn't find the thread.

Maybe this is just me, but I would like to dye my Nightriser Helm.  I understand not allowing people to dye faction equipment and such, but why not things like this?
"So what else is on your mind besides 100 proof women, 90 proof whisky, and 14 karat gold?"
"Amigo, you just wrote my epitaph."

"Maybe there's just one revolution.  The good guys against the bad guys.  The question is, who are the good guys?"

I suggested that after everyone and their familiar was wearing Templar Mail for a while, and got the response that dying was a "perk" for certain items, so some would remain plot. If they were changed to "stolen" they'd be dyable.

In fact- more items will become plot as it's become common to dye "Green Macabre Cloak" or other items with colour identification in their name. Anyway, no big deal- but some items we dont want them to be dyed!

It might be a bit of work to seed through those items, but it might be easier to create a new flag for these items rather than just using the plot flag, that stops them from working with dye. That way for whatever reason you can directly control what can or can't be dyed, while keeping other people happy - as well as allowing players to maybe find magic dye that for whatever reason actually works, or some such - without you needing to go into the toolset to make a new copy of the item, you can just set the no dye flag from true to false, IG.
