Not sure if its already in the works or not, but a scripted way to purchase more keys for the Guildhouse as well as a way to pay the next tenday's rent in advance would be sweet.

I like this... chasing DM's to possess NPC's for things like keys to property you own/rent doesn't add much to the playing experience and i am not sure DM's get much fun about of being chased for new copies.

I'd like to suggest that more guild houses be made available.  It's a great RP perk for a faction, and it's not that expensive.  Thus high demand.

There was no IC or OOC notice when they were going to be made available that I noticed, and they were snapped up pretty fast.

Firmly against being able to extend the rent before it comes due unless more guildhouses are made.  If it's automated and you can pay ahead of time, then other guilds have no opportunity to ever get one of them.

Gwydion,
There was IC notice of them becoming available, they were around IC but unable to be rented for several weeks.I don't see the sense in your suggestion that "guildhalls should become available when PC factions get evicted for non-payment of rent because they couldn't get a DM posession".

We had Offices for rent in the UD. Through about 6 months worth of playing, I never saw one rented, even at the cheapest rate of I think 1500 a month. Renting HQs seems to have picked up here a lot more.

We could use more though, they're a really positve influence for player factions, enabling you to have a meeting place and offer perks to your members.

IMO,more rentable buildings, and an opportunity to pay upfront rent into an account, a bit like like a reverse pay system.

Is there a shrine rental system in place, or is that something a Patrician has to find a location for and pursue IG?

I can has fun?

This guildhouse / banner system has got to be one of the best innovations the DM team has come up with in a long time. It makes everything so much easier for everyone. I especially like how seamlessly the whole thing merges with Patrician status.

Based on my experience with the system so far, here's my wish list for improvements:

1. A way to copy guild tokens or give them to another faction member
2. Faction bank accounts, so that any Patrician in the faction can access the guild's shared money
3. A simple way to obtain new keys, as proposed
4. An option to remove someone from a banner faction
5. A way to pay advance on rent for one term only, to both allow guilds some flexibility as well as prevent people from parking a guild house indefinitely.
6. Some way to show massive appreciation to Mort and the other DMs who have been working to get this thing off the ground. This is a tremendous improvement over my last experience with a PC faction, and I am 110% sure the DMs feel the same way.

Gwydion

Egon,

I knew they were GOING to be available, but there was no notice when they would.

So despite checking the NPC clerk every day I logged on, they were snapped up in less than 24 hours and our faction never got a shot at one.  I considered driving home from work to try to get one over my lunch hour when I realized they were finally activated, but that seemed a bit obsessive.

All I'm saying is, it'd be nice for there to be a few more of them to enjoy this very cool feature.  If it's going to stay at a low number, I'd hate for the same 3 factions to "park" them indefinately because they just happened to be lucky enough to be IG when they were activated - or heard they were activated in IRC and jumped IG to get them before they were all gone.

I'd prefer to see 2-3 more of them, rather than limit anyone and force them to lose a cool headquarters.

Egon the Monkey

Damn. I wondered why the Lathanderites didn't have a Hall. We do need more, in fact what you guys really need is a shrine with a bunkroom and storage. Order HQ Lite. I know you're supposed to be able to rent shrines, but never seen one.

Caddies

I like that there are only three available. Not only does it reflect the fact the Ziggurat is becoming a cramped space, but it also incites factional conflict. If you're desperate for a Guildhouse, use your political influence or factional might to see that you attain it.

Mort

It also takes substantial amount of time to build one. I do try and be original so they all look original and cool.

The other suggestions are already implemented but dont seem to show up.... :|

Gwydion

Respectfully disagree Caddies.

Political influence and factional might had ZERO impact on who got these guildhouses.  It was first come, first serve.  I'm pretty certain all three guildhouses were taken before 24 hours had passed, and obviously those with the ability to log on at virtually any time have a huge advantage in obtaining this very nice perk.

And yet you suggest that the DMs automate being able to lock them up long term so someone else can't snag your guild house when the lease expires because they were able to get there first?  That just doesn't feel fair to me.

But life isn't always fair either, so I can roll with that too.

I guess the real question to the DMs, is this feature designed to make it more fun for PC factions, or to generate conflict and drive server plots?  Both have merit.  I guess keeping the guildhouses down to 3 can do both, the way it is structured.

Sure it would be nice for the Lathanderites to have a place, but there are probably 2-3 other PC factions that would enjoy making use of this feature as well.

I might appear angsty about this, but I'm actually not.  Playing my character and faction have been awesome enough without having a guildhouse.   I Just think this is a very cool feature and would like to see more player factions able to enjoy it.

Just a suggestion.

Personally, I don't care who got the guild halls, but I can see how it would be easy to like the way it was done, if you HAVE one.  Being as there are only three, it seems to me that the guild halls could have been auctioned to the highest bidder so that any faction could have had a chance, then let the conflict begin.

QuotePolitical influence and factional might had ZERO impact on who got these guildhouses.

Never said it did? I am just saying such things can be used to attain them now.

QuoteAnd yet you suggest that the DMs automate being able to lock them up long term so someone else can't snag your guild house when the lease expires because they were able to get there first? That just doesn't feel fair to me.

You were just saying how unfair it is that people who couldn't log on at certain times never got a chance at a guildhouse, but being able to pay the next week's rent in advance in the case you can't log on when your tenure expires (and thus other people being able to snag it) isn't fair? Seems to be a logic discrepancy here lol.

SN

I would be incling myself towards two or three more guildhouses.

As in, paranoidally being logged on on the last day of when the term of rent runs out, waiting for the hour the rent finishes, then chasing another PC('s) in the race of "Who clicks the Guild Reg NPC faster." is rather .. silly.

I don't want to spend two in game hours just standing in the Guld House Reg place not to loose the 'race'.

Respectfully agreed the Lathanderites could definitely use a place to rent themselves.

And my suggestion: Be patient, folks. Been here for a month myself after a VERY long break and after this month, I'm pretty sure Mort wont abandon 10+ people faction who are wanting a place to live in, just give him time.

No pressure, Mort.

The Lathanderites are just fine without a guild house.  It may come to pass that we earn some kind of base, but it may not.  Either way it's all good.

It's a cool feature.  I'm sure those that have it, love it.  The Mithrilsouls spent hours IG just RPing in their Hall.  That's why I suggested that maybe more become available later.

Certainly don't want to put more pressure or work on Mort - or suck the gratification from the process after he put all the work in to do it already.  Hey, if it takes another month or two before you get time, it would still be nice to see.  They are very neat, and I think adds a lot to the current flavor of the server.
