This thing could probably use a beefup.

It has terrible AB, AC, HP, and pretty much every stat is lower than even the weakest level 1 summons!

Yeah, it has that along with some other problems that make it pretty powerful in some circumstances. To not derail Box's topic though, his suggestion sounds legit considering the powers of some of the cleric domains.

I would recommend setting the Death Avatars on the same par as the Animal druid companions on the server.

Jergal, Myrkul, Urogalan, Orcus...all have amazingly flavorful death avatars.

no way equal to animal companions, you lose xp went both familiars and animal companions die

they do suck but nothing too powerful i say, clerics already have nice spells to choose from and can wear heavy armor

Agreed, I don't think it's meant to be a combat companion, anymore then Shadows (who also suck) or familiars.
 
Animal Companions (as has been discussed elsewhere.) are more powerful then most other equal summons/familiars for a reason.
 
Besides I have personally seen a dm summon a pretty hard core death avatar for a cleric who was rping quite frequently at the time. So rp enough and maybe you'll get something cool but yea Clerics already have lots of roles, no need for a tank death avatar.
