Iron Oligarch

Ironmantle of the Numinous Order is now dead. I don't have terribly many screenshots, but I'll post what I can.

Ironmantle was an Illuskan born in the Spine of the World, but educated and trained as a templar of Tyr in Waterdeep. After arriving on Ymph in a freak shipwreck, he took up service with the Black Company but soon grew frustrated with it, especially after learning about the broken Numinous Order. After a Mist dream that revealed an ancient plate cuirass to him, Ironmantle pledged to reform the Order.

I was quite surprised how successful the new Order was. It attracted a large number of PCs, and even after awful setbacks it persevered, even thrived:

Attaining lordship was a turning point for Ironmantle, and caused considerable disagreement among the Order. Some were allies:

Some were not:

Still though, lordship was undeniably a boon to Ironmantle's plans. With it, he was able to drastically curb the extent of slavery in the Duchy, as well as witnessing scenes like this:

It also gave him unanswered legal precedence in the Dominion. While he always tried to remain Just in his enforcement of the law, sometimes the law needed to be bent slightly for the greater good:

In the end, it was Ironmantle's unswerving duty to uphold Tyr's law (or the Unbroken's law) everywhere and to everyone that sealed his fate, at the knives of the Stargazer warlord Yekal. Kudos to all of the PCs in that PvP, incidentally; it was a fitting end.

As for the loot, Ironmantle received an incredible sword that brought a tremendous number of comments. In reality, he just kept it out for an additional +1 to saving throws!

He also received a girdle that I can only presume was meant to try and correct my miserable PvP skills:

As for the armor, I will post only this:

Ironmantle was tremendously fun to play. Thank you, EfU:A, for helping to make him worth playing.

An Epic char I was able to witness your death scouting with my familiar and I must say that Ironmantle was an awesome character.

His final moments.

Posted that time he threatened Bailey, I see. Of course she went on to twist what she and Constance had talked about, but I'm sure he expected that.

Ironmantle was a great PC who made a rather large mark, and in my book he deserves a permanent memorial or something!

Caddies

Amazing PC. Looking forward to your next.

Ironmantle was an awesome character hands down.  His interactions with my current character were few, but I remember each one - particularly the first one - vividly.  After our initial interaction I just had to send you a tell letting you know how awesome your character was, and my opinion only grew stronger as I learned about his actions through various channels.

I just wish we would have had the opportunity to interact more.  I look forward to your next PC.  *Cough*Conclave*Cough* ;)

Good grief, you were an enormous influence on my PC from the start, and will remain so I'm sure until the very end. I've had the pleasure of having some very fine enemies on my time at EfU, and this one was one of my favorites. Well done.

The image to go with the stabbing dialogue-incident above. This was a few weeks back but still one of Ironmantle's great moments of power.

It was curious dynamic we had. Even to the point where he offered to leak me information from the good guy side to stop from destroying a weapon they wanted to use on the Bogs. There were times where the Order marched in full to the Temple District refugee camp to slay Orog, Drow, and Duergar housed within When he was raised to Lord things only got better as we danced around politically.

Ironically the eve of his death we had one of the most balanced and threat-filled RP's I've yet to have on Xeral, or on any villain in regards to seeing a good guy. We were negotiating and it was laden with subtle threat and meeting. I never got to say good bye (or kill him myself).

It was nice to see an EFU:A Paladin flourish in ways that one hasn't had much chance to in the past. Not just getting sway over the people who flocked to the order, but also to gain Lordship and oversee trial and otherwise.

When we got news of his death, Bailey was naturally sent to make a Eulogy
