Disease incubation

Most diseases have a terribly long incubation period that makes them almost useless, and also hurts any spells that apply such an effect.

I'd like to suggest that the incubation period for -most common- diseases be reduced to something far more fitting for the pace of game play in NWN compared to PNP. Maybe 30 - 60 seconds for many of them. This allows a player to fix the problem within a reasonable amount of time while also making these effects worthwhile in general.

I would second this, but I may be biased!

To use some of StDs words (hit on me if I took you wrong!):
While poison was meant to apply directly and should be easy to get rid of, a disease was meant to apply slowly with a much harder time to get rid of. As it is most diseases lose on both fields as the means to heal a disease are super easy to aquire (which is quite fine considering a certain area in the module).
What you end up with though is a disease that is not much more but some flavour on a virtual sheet of paper, making the disease kinda useless compared to any poison.

I think it would be pretty cool if more diseases had more visible effects like the flies, glowing green, spreading, and so on, along with what is being suggested.

Higher DCs and maybe even chances of failure with tonics and remove disease would be cool too, as poison/disease saves are probably amongst the easiest to pump.

I was thinking that it would be prudent to increase the incubation time.  For instance, you pick up blight from the sewers and will go from 14 Charisma to 8 in about one minute.  I think that is a bit quick.  I think a few minutes between each incubation (save roll) would be about right.

Disease should take longer.  If you get bit by a poisonous snake, you don't have a lot of time to mess around, but if you get herpes, you have plenty of time to spread it around before you even know you have it.

Nuclear Catastrophe

I quite like the way things work now, to be honest.  The new diseases are a lot harder to get rid of as things are, and removing disease can be costly if you're unlucky.

And if I'm not mistaken, filthblight and such like do cause flies to circle your character.

Herpes doesn't get you a coloured status bar!!!

Scripted Diseases work fine.

Bioware disease dont since they use hours for incubation and our hours are 27 minutes... so it takes a very long time.

This could be modified through 2da, maybe. Not sure if we could make it shorter than 27 minutes, however.

How do you know that? Maybe the programmers of RL just didn't make it visible on our UI but only on the UIs of those directing us about.

Perhaps it could be possible to change the contagion spell so that it inflicts one of EFU's scripted diseases rather than a Bioware one?
