This thread inspired by a conversation in IRC with Egon about various foods stuff.

I've recent been experimenting with avocado and came up with a few recipes.

Avocado and Honey Toast

Cut open and mash up some avocado
Mix with honey
Spread on toast

Avocado and Balsamic Vinegrette Dip

Cut open and mash up some avocado
Mix in some balsamic vinegrette (add the vinegerette in very slowly and taste often so it doesn't end up too overpowering)

I had the dip with some boiled Surimi and the mix of mild sweetness, saltiness, and savoury was amazing.

Damien

i dont get it, where is the meat?

Theraphosa_blondi

You don't need meat.

Though the boiled surimi is fish meat.

Spaghetto:

1 Package Ramen Noodles, whatever flavor.
1 Can of Cream of Favorite Soup.

Cook Ramen noodles.  Drain.  Dump Cream of Favorite Soup over noodles.

Mix.  Nom.

Moroccan/Mediterranean-ish Chicken with Tzatziki
----------
Chicken breasts
turmeric
paprika
cumin
salt n pepper
garlic
onion
cilantro
------

-Cut the chicken into cubes (aprox. 6 per breast, but doesn't matter)
-Mix turmeric, paprika and cumin in a 2:3:1 ratio (6lbs of chicken should be ~2 tablespoons turmeric etc.)
-Mince Cilantro and garlic and dice onions, adding them and the spices to the chicken and mixing to make sure the chicken is evenly coated.
-Salt and pepper to taste.
-Grill or cook on a flat top, saving some extra spice mix to add if it seems a little mild.

Place on pita or msaman bread and top with avocado and...

Tzatziki
---------
Aprox 1:1 Sour cream and Plain yogurt
Diced cucumber
Salt
Pepper
lemon juice
Olive oil

Just combine them all in a bowl, tasting to desired flavour. It should have a bit of a tang from the lemon, but not overpowering.
------------

Welcome to what pays my bills.

Egon the Monkey

The recipe that statred this all on IRC.

Pork and Beer Stew

It has MEAT. It has beer. It was inspired by a pair of EfU dwarves constantly talking about beer 'n boar stew until I decided it was an awesome idea. It is delicious, delicious geekery.

You will need.
Pork.
Dark Stout
Parsnips
Mushrooms
Carrots
Onion
Potatoes
Garlic
Stock stuff (cubes/powder/dead chicken stuck in a pot and boiled for 4 hours)
Herbs to suit. Sage is good.

Cut the vegetables chunky. Dwarves love chunky (Be it food, women or rocks).
Fry carrot and parsnips in a large pot to brown. Add meat and onions as veg starts to colour, and then chopped garlic and mushrooms. Pour in the stout, pour in the stock., add the herbs. Bring to boil and simmer for 20 min. Add potatoes, cook for another 20 min. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve with bread, more beer, and a vague feeling you've taken immersion too far.

Tzatziki requires loads of garlic to be tasty. Add it.

HALFBROOD IS GORDON RAMSAY

Theraphosa_blondi

Have you guys ever noticed that in Kitchen Nightmares, Gordon Ramsey always takes off/changes his shirt on screen?

Skanky

Chicken Adobo:

5 pounds of chicken legs or thighs cut into smaller pieces if you like.
1 cup vinegar.
1 cup soy sauces
1 whole large onion (sliced)
Palm full of pepper balls.

Add all in one big pot and let it simmer on medium heat for an hour or so. Serve over rice.

Underbard

TBH, the pork and beer stew sounds good, the Spaghetto, sounds real, better if you could afford some kind of meat to put into it, but real.
The rest of these recipies though.... Yogurt? Soy sauce? Avocados? Surimi? None of this is real food.  The only things that classify as food are meats, taters, beans, bread and eggs.  Bean sprouts don't count.
Everything else is fail. This includes raw fish(bait).  But that is another topic.
