Mr Howardson

Out of all the invasions, this has to be the worse one.

The decay troopers have high AC, the shamans SPAM dispel and hold person. And the Warlord is incredibly difficult.

If it can be toned down only slightly, it'd be much appreciated! Maybe I just had the misfortune of doing this quest with only a few people online. :S

One_With_Nature

People have the choice to do this or not, nobody is focrcing them too. Ona nother note, like all challenges with the right group its easy to smash.

ps: BoMs orc invasion was likely harder!

pps: you're level 10 stop bitching and crush

Mr Howardson

Invasions largely rely on a group of random people appearing and committing themselves to tough it out for a very limited reward! With this in mind, no invasion should be tailored for the 'ideal group'. I understand that there are limits to what the DM crew can do, but perhaps replacing that Warlord with the Lizardfolk quest boss would be appropriate? Dangerous in its own way and perhaps more thematically appropriate. :)

Mr Howardson

Maybe you should instead listen to the fact that a level 10 is stating that the difficulty of this invasion is somewhat skewed and will inevitably result in high casualties instead of telling me to shut up and stop 'bitching?'

I know it was meant in jest, but please kindly observe forum etiquette and rules.

Disco

Meh my old lvl 10 barbarian could solo this. Well maybe not. But still its har but noone is forcing you to do it...

P.S im drunk.

P.P.S its not realy that hard.

Edit. Be happy :)

Big Orc Man

It's important to realize that not every threat on the isle is equal, and some threats, like the lizardfolk, have a very long and complex history in the setting.

If lizardfolk are exceptionally dangerous, perhaps you should hire some expert rangers to keep tabs on them and try to find a way to put a stop to their menace!

River Walker

I just did this with a level 4 and I was kicking butt. I died, but then again, I'm level freaking four.

xXCrystal_Rose

Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's a nightmare. If I could smash it solo as a level 8 cleric (Elianne Nimue) you can as a level 10!

Mr Howardson

I hate how people are bringing my level into this! It has nothing to do with the suggestion and is an observation I am making over several characters.

If the DMs do not find merit in the idea it's no skin off my bones of course.

Guttersnipe

Most times I've seen this invasion it hasn't been a big problem. No offense, but this latest time it was an issue due to horrible cohesiveness and tactics. Frontliners bolting off the line randomly and dragging the lizardfolk through the backliners and flankers, backliners not healing the frontliners...so it was an utter mess and lots of PCs died.

Pigadig

The difficulty of any lizardmen fight is directly proportional to what percentage of the spawns are decay troopers and above.

<25% - Cakewalk
25 - 50% - Difficult
50 - 75% - Oh god it hurts.
>75% - Look at all these looted out level 10s in the fugue.

I still remember the pain from doing Morass with Rill and Rand Bross and watching a DM use spice to turn the dial up to 75%+.

Bearic

I'm completely in favour of the opposite, please add new giant lizard pets that breathe acid breath, use jump, and perhaps gust of wind or ironhorn.

Tough invasions are awesome, because then you get to use up healing stuff and spam awesome group spells with super powerful groups and there's no restrictions on level or size, thus cutting off that ooc worry. =]

granny

well... in my last invasion, the invaders killed my pc and when I respawned the town decided Mriri was too good to keep on living.

so... I'm with Bearic! the invasions are not hard enough!
mistlocke must learn to give value to its allies. even if they're tieflings <3
