For those that know what this is...

Anyone enjoy playing this?

I've been playing with a multiplayer clan for years now. It's fun as hell. We play the cRPG mod and Strategus - basically single-player, except multiplayer. Build armies, move them around the map, fight other players in 50 v 50 matches. Build up your own character, too, which doesn't take long at all.

Very teamwork heavy, and Teamspeak is required.

Some of the best gaming I've had outside of EfU.

For those that don't know Warband, it's a a skill-based game with a single and multiplayer game. The best part is its combat system, where a mousemove up and click swings from above, mouse down and click stabs, side moves swing sideways. Right click the direction parries incoming attacks - so it's a very fast paced duel. Learn to block or die. Or carry a thick steel shield and pray.

Even better, you can fight from foot or horseback. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. Move faster, do more damage. Time your swings right, do more damage. Hit with a half swing, do less damage - wind all the way up and make them hurt.

Singleplayer is loosely story driven open-world where you move armies around a map and lead them into battle personally. Or storm castle walls. Fight for a king, or fight against them all and found your own kingdom. Whatever the hell you want to do. It's worth the game just for that.

I play, and already have cRPG. Never got into any large scale fights like 50vs50 though! Don't have teamspeak either...

Pigadig

All I remember about cRPG is being a peasant with a knife and stones against people in full plate with bec de corbins flipping around like ninjas.

It was fun and hilarious for a time.

Mount and Blade: Warband is a great game, would recommend it. It's combat system is also vaguely similar to Demons/Dark Souls PvP, so if you enjoy that then you ought to enjoy this game.

Divine Intervention

I was thinking about getting this but mostly for the Napoleonic Wars expansion, might have to invest in both when I get some more money.

It's also worth noting that Warband and the whole Mount and Blade series goes on sale fairly frequently, so watch out for it! A few sales ago I got the entire series for 10 USD

I'll gladly sponsor new players getting into the game so that you can buy decent weapons and armor. Like Pigadig said, Peasanting (your first 30-45 minutes of gameplay) is extremely ridiculous. If you make the best out of it you can still have an awesome time, especially if you're using teamwork and sacrificing your body! =D

If you played like, 2 years ago Pigadig, most of that has changed. Becs aren't crazy amazing anymore and platemail costs "upkeep" money so you can't wear it all the time anymore.

Teamspeak is incredibly simple. Easier than IRC. I mean, if the BF3/TF2/FPSzOMG players can handle it, anybody here can.

Our channel is 176.9.48.138. Just find me on IRC if you need help.

The Fallen_ (EU) and the _BlackCompany (NA) guys are my friends there, should be able to get help from just about anyone in there.

As for Napoleonic, it's pretty fun! I prefer the medieval setting by far though. Using catapults is way more fun than cannoneering.
