On EFU you have the ability to apply for unique backgrounds. It's a fun thing and I highly suggest PC's give it a try from time to time.

Marcus Hrentar was a citizen of Old Port. Throughout his life he dwelled amongst Old Port's visitor's quarter a bastard son of a wealthy merchant. As he came of age he worked as a stock boy and shopkeep to his father before deciding to ply his trade as a Mercenary.

Surviving the war of Ixpadia Sabuth as a mercenary he found employment as a freelance axe for hire in service of House Stenton. However as Old Port is a woefully xenophobic place when a job went sour his mercenary companions decided it was time to "Settle accounts" and the totality of the blame was placed upon the Half Orc mercenary. Sold into debt bondage of House Stenton Marcus Hrentar was broken, battered, abused, and stripped of all name and dignity.

Given his size, large for even a half orc, he was sold to the House of Jultar of Traensyr. A fate that any sane being would tell you was worse than a thousand deaths as the Drow are embodiment of pure and utter evil that knows no bounds. In service to the Drow he was an executioner, a gladiator, a brothel-slave to massage lithe drow males and females, and a litany of other degrading and horrific jobs.  He was also a Eunich after two drow soldiers, drunk one night on azure, bet upon the size of his manhood. They felt a sterile slave unable to produce offspring were unfitting of such and they had him beaten, gelded, and fed his own genitals.

After five years in the service of House Jultar he was deemed unworthy a servant and was sentenced to a life upon the waves. He spent the next five years as an oarman upon a Jultar trading vessel as he traveled the Dark Lake amongst the company of other slaves, predominately human, though others from all other races.

While many men clamored that the end of the world was upon them Marcus' vessel was one that fled the carnage and the fall of Traensyr. They did battle upon the waves in quiet desperation for many months before the stock of food and similar began to deminish. All this time the Drow were stricken with the early onset of famine and their food turning spoiled as food poisoning was rampant.

Being a slave Marcus was not deemed "Worthy" of food but a time came when eating sawdust and tattered clothes off of dead men wasn't enough. The Drow grew desperate and began the idea of feasting upon the slaves. It was at this time, Marcus who no longer had a name, decided that he would not die inside of a Drow's gullet. Shackled to twelve other humans he broke down the door of his slaver's hold. He then made his way amongst the sickly and feeble drow, one by one overpowering each and snapping their neck.

On the second of Nightal with a bottle of azure wine in one hand and a cigar in the other Marcus Hrentar was a free man. His name taken from him by House Stenton and a decade of horrific service to the drow was over.

The stranded Drow Vessel he renamed "The Free Enterprise" as he sailed its broken frame to Sorrowfeast Island. Twelve humans he arrived shackled to upon the Island to which he quickly sold into slavery for armor and supplies, for if he was to retain his freedom he would need such things. Sadly the Free Enterprise had taken on much water in the travels and sank, leaving the Slave to find passage to Lopblopbliibop with a bag full of gold and a fierce ten years of bondage to make up for.

What followed was a ten day (Six IG days) hedonistic rampage of drugs, alcohol, narcotics, beatings, threats, strife, hiring Slavers and bounty hunters to hunt a private "Catalog" of PCs to sell to Sorrowfeast island, brokering a deal with the Spellguard to become a Privateer amongst the Auxiliary and pirate on their behalf, and becoming a Cursed pirate of Sekolah

Some PC's have high ambitions of office. Others want to pursue a faction and shine. Other PC's have a deep desire to their faiths.

Jack recieved his life's dream before he was even created in EFU. So in the aftermath was a 10 day bender of wanton chaos and nihilistic evil. Though he wasn't able to qualify his EIG requirements for the Blackguard PRC by any means he was still

CAPTAIN HALF MAN JACK, SLAVING PIRATE OF THE DARK LAKE

And he died a Free Man.

Well. [Achem] Make that he died pretty early but was still a free man. Rock the boat from day one and EFU will never disappoint you.

Good job RWG, tamarill hated his guts and wanted him dead but he also didn't know how big of a threat he was, Half-Man Jack would have been a great enemy and would have made great conflict, overall I'm sad to see him go so soon.. Tamarill may be laughing but the player behind the bitch queens servant casts a frown, RIP jack.

I would comment on this, but nevermind.

Keep rocking, RwG! :D

Caused my PC more drama than he's seen in months.  Well done as always RwG.  Bastard.

granny

... yeah. I feared that guy. A LOT.
I respect people that makes me fear. And I hate them. A LOT.

Nocte

Intriguing character. Love the slave-turned-slaver backstory.

Only had a chance to interact with him once. It turned out to be a meaningful one, seeing as Jack went on a feverish rampage to get his hands on the Lady Kauvra after that voyage.. :D cheers RwG, well played.

tala_kai

rip PC I was really looking forward to interact with more but I'm not sure my PC was even aware of him due to spooooooky business.

Cool background!
