Strange Portal Quest

A quest more difficult than many seven max quests yet it is a six max quest.  I don't understand why though?  Is this a possible oversight?

The quest was created with a maximum level of five. This maximum was raised in light of player complaints that it was too difficult.

Perhaps I'm colored by a preference for challenge, but I've had lots of fun with this quest as a level five character in a level five group. Although it's not a perfect record of success, we usually made it through. I've experienced the quest when additionally spiced with powerful and intelligent enemies. I've entered with many different compositions. There were no significant changes in content when I went through the quest as a level six character.

A well-rounded group should be able to handle anything that script throws at it.

Personally, I find certain other 2-6 quests more daunting, such as magic eaters or that potion golem...

Potion golem's actually max 7, if you're thinking of the one in that labratory. Magic eater quest is really easy if you have any warrior class or summons imo. I've two-manned it numerous times no problem.

If we're discussing the quest I think we are, I find the quest particularly unrewarding, its healing drops minor healing trinkets and light healing potions, sometimes a few basic consumables if you're lucky, and not a drop of gold.

Maybe putting a gold pile in a certain quest boss room would make the quest a little more attractive to players, as it stands, in terms of xp and supply, it isn't really worth it.

It's an awesome quest that I've only ever done once because in general people feel that they aren't ready to take it on at the levels it requires them to be.

But seriously, I'd like to do this quest more often! It's a pretty serious adventure, where a good group setup is a major advantage. Perhaps the problem is with the perception of the players? It's certainly DOable.

Maybe its difficulty rating should be changed from "average" to "hard"?

I haven't experienced any issues with this quest. A ''hard'' flag might be warranted, but it's well-suited as a level 6 quest and the loot is potentially excellent. It simply doesn't cater to everyone's needs.
