For those of you who have never cared for the Order because it's "mist heretics ftl", I highly encourage you to have another look.

A famous paper on medieval history claims that the wrong way to examine the medieval culture of relic worship is as a backward practice involving faith in chicken bones and wood splinters, for that wouldn't ever teach you anything about the way medieval people thought, as you'd be stuck in the perspective of viewing them as superstitious idiots.

The same sort of mistake is very easily made when playing a religious PC, especially if the veracity of their faith is more than a little dubious.

Instead, if you let go of the perspective that the Order's dogma is nothing but some odd mist heresy, you will find that it is actually thoroughly fleshed out. There are no contradictory oddities or ludicrous secret beliefs involved when you play an Order PC. Instead, you will be given the full spectrum of religious interpretations and practices to choose from, ranging from humble practitioner to overbearing zealot, and from leading the crusade against H'bala to disguising yourself as Aberdenn hunters in order to pin the blame for massacring a bunch of innocent Stargazers on them.

In the name of the Three, the ends justify the means. Roll up and rock out.
