Adding time to putting on/changing armor

I'd like to suggest adding some sort of timer or vulnerability period to people putting on armor. A couple ideas to start things off:

1) A bar similar to the resting UI appears and your character must remain stationary during it to successfully equip the armor. Perhaps armor category playing a factor in time required.

2) Just making you vulnerable similar to Sanctuary ring teleport while you change. No other changes.

A delay in armor swapping would be nice, similar to the delay for battle equipping perhaps?  Or even a delay in equipping more heavy armors 3-5 seconds?  I've seen some very questionable things with PCs who make armor that look like their fullplate then swap it out instantly right in front of dozens of people... buff ... then swap it back in the span of like 10 seconds.  It's really strange to even react to that in an IC manner.

I sort of agree, but I also think if we're going this far down the realism rabbit hole then swapping weapons should take a round or two. Especially weapon swapping from a two handed weapon to a 1h/shield.  Since you have to put a weapon away, secure it and then take out a another weapon/shield. Right now you can juggle weapons within seconds of each other no problem.

This is along the lines of making people eat / drink all the time. As stated, the "realism" rabbit hole literally adds no fun to the server, just tiresome grind stuff.

you can't swap armor while in combat

unequipping your armor so you can throw on a couple buffs isn't entirely risk-free

I rather agree that the default no-swapping-during-combat works fine; just be a turd and abuse it to beat down every bard you see peeling off their metal carapace to cast buffs in their well hidden herbalist's robe undies. Maybe people will stop being doorknobs. Lol.

Many of us thought early-on that there should be a timer.  Optimally there would.  But VP cuts it to the core.  It's just one more cumbersome thing.  With so many sacrifices the server makes to promote fun over realism, I think this is minor.
That said, I agree that players should at least make an effort to RP changing armor.  Just blinking to robes, casting, then blinking to platemail is not cool.
Of course, as stated, you can't do it during battle.  But before a quest at least RP it.  Make everyone wait a bit.  Go behind a pillar/stalagmite.  Or emote stripping in front of everyone.
