Randomized names after using Shifting abilities (like Polymorph and Wildshape)

There are a lot of RP forms a changeling can utilize to avoid danger available. As a witch for example you can reliably turn into a girl.

But the fact that your name shows predisposes people.

I think it would be a huge boon for people that can shapeshift to have a random or even static name assigned to them temporarily while shifted so that people don't know "Oh look it's a little girl but it's actually Mary Doe, the changeling witch".

If people want to murder a little girl or an animal that looks like an NPC named "Falcon" its all fine. That are the risks of being poly'ed into a chicken or bird.

If this is possible, plz!!!  I know we are supposed to dream that players don't metagame this stuff but lets be real they do.

Damien

Though I'd love this I can imagine players cheesing it. I think, similar to knaves, making it something you can earn as a druid

Vlaid

This is possible, we use something similar for Knaves.

It may change in the future but for now we've decided to make it purely a Knave perk.

I'd like to add an opinion from the other side of this. If the name's concealed, it means you cannot worry you're metagaming, and any conflict about it is entirely IC knowledge. Having that name over their head can mean you feel obliged to hold back because you can't "prove it" and it might look like metagaming.

Similar to adding it to the Spymaster Disguise tool, it would benefit both sides of a conflict or a deception. It means if you act on a hunch, nobody can complain you just did it because there was an OC name informing you.
