Uniform Changers for Factions

Can we implement a box that changes gear (unless plot) to look like a factions uniform of that base level (0/# ,1/8, 2/6, 8/1 etc.)

I believe this is a bad idea.

It is part of a faction´s identity that you stick with their armor and outfits, no matter what unless you have...
A) DM loot that you had confirmation on being able to wear with your faction´s colors slapped onto it.
B) intent to purposefully go against the uniform code of your faction.

It would take a big part out of how a character appears and the What You See Is What You Get principle if we could take any armor and make it look like the base-type armor of any faction.

And I think I understand where this suggestion is coming from. There are factions, even amongst the Peerage, where base armors are often sub-optimal compared to what you can find out in the world while questing or exploring. But this is where masterwork suits come into play. This way you have an even bigger motivation to acquire them.

What richord said. To be a faction member has its perks and downsides. To look good *and* have good stats in most factions, you have to earn it ig. All items in game are designed by the dm's to appear as they are. Broken armor, shields, etc etc look like what they are.

If you have custom armor, it's because you payed out the nose for it :)

I dont know OOC what the faction loot is for all factios bar the one i am in now. As i havent played EFU:C much, so cannot comment on the point made.

Depending on what your concept is in the faction (where you may wish some different skill bonuses etc. to say appriase or stealth or such) this seems a small, easy to implement, purely aesthetic change.

Awaiting a DM involvement/recognition / time is fine, but for the vast majority of players it wont happen, for what is purely aesthetics.

The DMs have specifically stated in the past that they don't want this, and I tend to agree. If anyone can just find/buy a random drop, then why would anyone grind for prestige or favor?
