Connection issues

I have been without a computer the past few weeks, and I've finally managed to secure a new one (yay!).

Problem  is, I cannot connect to EfU anymore. Other NWN servers work fine and I'm able to play any I try.

So far what I've tried is resetting the router, changing the ports in the nwnplayer.ini and opening up my firewall.

The error I get is that EfU keeps timing out for me (Server found, attempting to login. Login failed, timed out), but when I try to ping the server through cmd I get all the results. And it should work!

Like I said before all other servers work, but I don't actually play those. I love NWN and I'm at a loss :(.

Any suggestions? Please?

Did you try nwn.escapefromundeath.com and adding :5121 after that one?

If you're still having problems find your way to nwnplayer.ini. Open it with notepad and then go down to the [profile] section and change the "Game Port=5121" to one higher, like "Game Port=5122" and give it a shot

Yep! Tried both DC connections.

Like I said, I've already tried changing the ports in the nwnplayer.ini. To no luck. I've no idea why I can't connect to EfU, but I can to other servers.

Are you sure your NWN installation is completely up to date? Having an outdated version usually renders this message. Make sure you have the correct game version.

You may have also inadvertently installed that most recent community patch thing which EFU does not use.

Hope you get this resolved! I know what a pain these mystery connection bugs can be. =/

Somehow this fixed itself. Or I did something. I'm not sure. Thanks a lot though! I can play again!
