As in the topic.

Rented a room in the Goblin yesterday.

Tried to rest in it today, got a message that I don't have permission to do such.

I'm not sure what's intended, but the feeling I always got is that your PC still has to pay a nightly fee.  The private room fee is just to have a locked safehaven for you or your valuables.

Dash

This is not so in the Kingsman. Free rests come with the rooms, and I've had other players even enter the room and rest in there (to my surprise). It might be that the area is not set as a rest place?

BrittanyPanthas

Sure sounds like a bug then.

Another bug dealing with private rooms is it seems like the first few days you own a room, you're able to speak with the Innkeeper to extend how many days you have left.  However, several days into owning it, the option no longer appears.

SN

Yes, I thought/heard/assumed that one should be able to rest for free in a room with a BED in there, considering I payed the fee :)

SanTelmo

Yes, there is a bad in Wastrel too. Can't sleep in my room, otherwise been this far working well. Even if I pay, I can't rest there so I figure it hasn't been set as a resting area.

This bug persists in the goblin, and I can confirm it is the same in atleast 2 of the rented rooms.

Listen in Silence

This is still the case in the Hanging Goblin.

Any word on this?

To clarify, even though you have rented a room, you have to pay the resting fee each time you want to rest.

I will try to look into this, but as it's a system I am as yet unfamiliar with, I promise nothing.
