Plus there's way too many trinkets allowing just anyone to use spell-like ablities already, imo.

Halfbrood

Would it be considered overpowered and unbalancing to include rare and powerful recipes for some of these potions IG? Or are there already such things!

Yalta

i think its pretty balanced as it is

Drakill Tannan

Quote from: derflaro;165984Yeah, I think things favor full BAB classes enough as is, and this sort of thing would only serve to make that more true.

You're kidding? Fighters and barbarias are SO underpowered. They should be supplied with 2 stoneskinpotions and 1 imp. Invisibility freely every reset IMO.

Wizards are way too powerfull as they are now, i mean, they get all the spell casting loot for themselves and no one else can use them! This would properly nerf wizards to a desirable...

Sarcasm aside, i wouldn't be against adding the ability to brew rare or 4rth level potions with the help of rare and expensive alchemy/herbalism recipies.

I agree with this. Doesn't seem unbalancing, if the things are difficult to find it could add to the server as some rich alchemist or brewer offers rewards to whoever goes out and gets some plant or gem. Certain things would be incredibly rare, such as what is required to make minor invulnerability potions, but not everything should be incredibly rare, perhaps simply require some herb, like bonga, for cure critical?

We would see some more people with more super-potions, though, but if it does become a problem and it turns out this takes from the server more than it adds to it it could always be removed.

Just my opinion...

Equinox

Brewing potions of fourth circle spells should never happen. ever.

They are tough quest rewards and DM gifts. They should remain such.

Underbard

Probably not a good idea for everyone to brew but Drakill brings up a good suggestion using alchemy in order to make this possible.

Halfbrood

Well, I did sort of mention it first.

Gnome on the Strange

This point is moot. You CAN brew some redic stuff with herbalism and alchemy anyway. It's just finding the recipes that's a bugger. Since randomly guessing recipes has a very low chance of success, and rare drops won't necessarily end up in the hands of a PC who can use them, I'd like to see more recipes that are encoded, hidden in riddles or require scripted lore checks to read.

Right now, getting your hands on Ele Shield, Divine Power, Freedom and CCW pots is unreliable, so if you have a stash, you're wary about using them. On the other hand, if you run out of Hastes, you know exactly how much gold to get and who to go to to get more. Things become more predictable, consumables grinding gets easier.

Dr Dragon

Fourth level potions should be DM Spice only

Underbard

That you did Halfbrood.  My apologies.
