I'll post up any bugs or oddities I find on animation here.

Weapons:
To get the basic shambling corpse to equip a weapon, you simply need to drop it on the ground, tell it to pick it up, then hostile someone nearby and tell it to attack. After telling it to attack it will pull out the weapon (be sure to tell it to stop unless you want a fight). So it's fine there. But this only works with shambling corpses.

For instance, with skeleton warriors you can tell them to pick up a weapon, but they will never equip it no matter how many times you tell them to attack, as they already have a weapon out. By default their shortsword is equipped, and it won't change. This likely holds true for archers, orcs and ogres as well. This is particularly problematic for skeletal warriors as they have weapon focus/specialization in battleaxes, not shortswords.

Levels:
Some time ago it was changed so that all summons would only have 1HD, I think (not sure, but I seem to remember something like that). This doesn't work for (Velsharoon's) Death Domain (level 5 outsider when cast by a level 7 cleric), nor for animated dead, and as I believe they were given turn resistance as well to make up for levels that they never actually lost, they are actually very very hard to turn.
