QuoteAbility Adjustments: Str -2, Con +4, Cha +2, Hide +4. AC +5 (natural)

Is what it says in the manual of our website.

So according to the website, since these bonuses are ADDED to the half-orc stats, a Trog with 18 STR on creation would have 16 after creation. But I have 14.

Either the manual has the wrong numbers or the script that changes your stats does. Either way, I thought I'd write about it here.

half orc gets +2 str so you get -2 after you create, to compensate, so thats a bit strange...  same thing happened to me i was 2 less str than i expected on my subrace dunno if the forums are wrong a bit and outdated?

Nothing is wrong. You loose -2 strength from half orc, and you loose another 2 strength for being a troglodyte.

Subrace system operates on 8str/8dex/8con/8int/8wis/8charisma system. A half orc has 10/8/8/6/8/6. So the stats are adjusted.

So a troglodyte has 6/8/12/8/8/10 as its base starting stats!

I'd believe you but then how about this:
The kobold is also listed as -2 STR, just like the Troglodyte. But a kobold has -4 STR compared to a human, -2 from the halfling base and -2 from the adjustment.

Shouldn't then the troglodyte have only -2 STR total as well, since his is listed as -2, not -4? It should be listed as -4 by the standard the kobold entry set. Then it would make sense: +2 from Half-Orc, -4 adjustment: total -2.

What I am saying is that by your logic, the kobold should be listed as -4, since you say they're based on 8/8/8/8/8/8.

The stats listed there are in -addition- to whatever your base race is, so the trog's -2 is just to cancel out the half-orc's +2, not to give it an overall -2. Why should a Troglodyte have a -2 STR overall, anyway? They aren't weak.

This is an ancient issue really. Most of the subraces were corrected, but I imagine some of the lesser played ones never were. The website incorrectly lists this or that subrace based upon base stats or modified stats seemingly at random (though less random after a first wave of fixes maybe a year or two ago <_< )

A Trog should simply counter the Half-Orc +2 str at creation and not receive -4 in total, for example. A Kobold should maintain Halfling stats (-2 str total) and not receive -4 total. The Kobold issue has been corrected in game before for some players due to the error, but it seems it needs to be corrected and unified across the board still.

So you think I could ask a DM to give me +2 STR IG?

Jasede

Jayde explained it to me today. The stats are correct, it's just that there are two different standards they are written in the manual - one that considers the base and one that considers it from 8/8/8/8/8/8. That's where my confusion came from.

Everything is as it should be.
