Fishing Bait

My PC is a halfling. When I equip the club sized fishing pole and attempt to use the unique power on the animal guts in my inventory to use it as bait my character instead begins to run across the map, typically sending my pc running to the west towards the nearest door or map transition. Nothing seems to happen when my char reaches her random destination. Dropping the bait and trying to use the power on it while it is on the ground does not work either, it looks like it has to be in your inventory.

I do not know if this applies to non-small creatures as well, or to the quarterstaff sized fishing pole. Or if other types of bait exhibit the same behavior, I only have animal guts atm. I will update this if I find more bait.

Minor update. Bought "Fishing Bait" from Old Man Pocket for 33gp to test out other bait items. It is not useable as fishing bait.

My character no longer runs randomly when I attempt to use the pole on bait. Now I get the message "There does not seem to be any good spots for fishing nearby." when I attempt to use the fishing pole's ability on Animal Guts and other bait while standing near what I assume to be a fishing spot.
