Knight Of Pentacles

I don't always make screenshot threads...

but when I do, they're for characters I thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end.

Nel was a simple enough concept. A slaver who had ambitions to build a Gladitorial-esque like Pit filled with monsters and feral slaves.  While he told people it was for their "entertainment" and to bring in income; that wasn't nearly the reason he sought to see these pits erected.  His ultimate goal was to sit as an Elder upon the Mistlocke council, and for him to do that he would have to have some sort of leverage over Mistlocke. What better leverage than having a peasantry who depends on your entertainment and a village that could be razed by all your captives if say, the guards were one day to be lax on their duties?

He was a schemer, he schemed so much it makes my head hurt to think about all the scheming he attempted.  It's ultimately what got him killed.  He had loyalties to no one but himself and would as easily jumped boat from one scheme to another to save face or to see his ambitions fulfilled.  The only thing that kept him in check was a healthy fear of the Gods, which is a fundamental value I believe most characters should have at their hearts.

I didn't get many screenshots, but the ones I did are fairly memorable and sort of sum up his liminal and inconsistent personality.  But overall, I suppose he can be summed up as a spiteful man who had little regard for others due to reasons I leave purposely ambiguous.

I had such plans for Nel!
