Solo Quest XP Bonus

Figured I'd post this here rather than adding to the thread in general discussion.

So here's the thought, based on SC's post. People treat low level stuff as something to get out of the way. I even do this. I legitimately dislike being low level. I've always felt that levels 6/7 are the best, though oddly that 8+ is usually boring simply because there's often nothing to do (not that I don't aim for it anyway). I want to kill some Illithids, honestly. I don't want to hang around the worminger caves all day.

Anyway, the problem is that we all (or most of us) try and rush through the low level stuff as fast as possible. Some of us (me) even have a general route we tend to take through these quests.

While I love solo quests because they're fast, fun, and generally stress-free, most of them have the opportunity to bring more PC's along. This rarely happens, however. Why bring someone along who you would have to split the loot on? Who you would have to split a flat gold reward on?

Metagame issues, sure, but how often do you see quest sendings for digging through the trash pits in the Worminger Caves, versus a quest that has a scaling gold reward?

So here's the thought. A while back we implemented an XP bonus for all quests that were 7+, I believe. How about we implement a similar XP bonus for any quest that can be done with 1 or 2 people minimum, but is done with more than that? This will encourage people to group with others on these lower-end quests. Bring 3 people along for Fort Iron Dread? Well, 33% end XP bonus. Bring 2 people along for the House of Knowledge quest? Well, 33% end XP bonus! Hooray!

Of course, many say (and rightly so) that the main appeal of low-end solo quests is how convenient they are AND the loot they offer. Now, on one hand we could nerf their loot, but I think that the better thing to do is reward those who bring more along, rather than punish by making them split it. Have more loot drop the more people there are. Maybe have a good or even guaranteed chance of a mini-boss (of appropriate difficulty for low level PC's) appearing to provide a nice challenge and a bit of fancy loot. Or even just have the piles of gold grant slightly more GP based on how many PC's are in the immediate area.

Rewarding PC's who include others in their plots and goals has always been how things work here, yeah? Why not treat quests the same?

Thoughts?
