Faith Is My Shield

A speech over the bellows after Faith Kruehtzer has been confirmed as the League of Purple candidate.

QuoteLive and drink. With the candidates for this election now finalized, I wish to thank the League of Purple for their continued support. I cannot do as I have done thus far without your help nor your shared wisdom. By maintaining this seat, I hope to further the glory this Well deserves.

Though I have held the seat for a mere three weeks, there are things I am very proud of having accomplished. Construction of the new district begins; those who build it and those who shall work it in the future shall be ensured fair pay, time to rest, and safeguard for their health and safety.

Other achievements that I am proud of include: progressing our good relations with Tlonsiyya; facilitating the conclusion of the dreaded bottle debacle; and negotiating the appointment of two District Architects.

What I have most to offer the Well, however, is this: the experience that comes from war. It is undeniable that the peace earned by our victory in Bet Nappahi shall not last forever. Now: we have strange oddities prodding at our perimeter and monsters digging up from beneath our feet.

I have served as Soldier. I have served as Commander. Let me put the culmination of my experience to use: vote for me and let me serve as Leader. Thank you.

A speech over the bellows in response to some leaflets, making clear the League of Purple Candidate's thoughts on crisis, war, and conflict.

QuoteLive and drink. I have words to speak upon a topic that has garnered some attention from a certain pamphlet writer: crisis and war. Anyone whom claims we of the Well are seeking out conflict is simply delusional--or drug-addled--and refuses to acknowledge the realities of our world.

Just recently we have struck a deal with Tlonsiyya to further and better the friendship and alliance we have shared since before we joined forces against the hordes of Iakmes. The Well benefits when we invite friends who wish to cooperate and work together.

We did not, however, invite the Qa'immi machines to paint our roads in red lights and flames. We did not invite the Tormented to climb out of their tombs. Especially in regards to the Tormented, the simple fact is, by sheer coincidence of physical proximity--

The monsters of the depths already see and treat us as their enemy. We have all heard the bellows from the Wellfolk beneath us. They are being hounded and hunted by the Tormented. But the Tormented, monstrous as they are, are not mindless beasts.

They know we are the closest help the Wellfolk can and have reached out to. The monsters have the numbers to assail us, to render us unable to aid, while more of their kind partake in their bloody hunt below. Their recent resurgence is not the first and nor will it be the last.

We are beset by monsters and villains and, frankly, I am flabbergasted that one attempting to weasel-word their way out of the reality that demands they defend their home bears a cloak of the Rose and the colours of the Balladeers. Their colleagues deserve better.

This writer claims you people pawns and me a conqueror. They are wrong on both counts. You are not pawns, but people whom want to live unhounded by monsters. And me? The only thing I want conquered are the monsters who already take our loved ones from us. Thank you.

A speech over the bellows. Legate Faith Kruehtzer discusses her views on the League of White.

QuoteLive and drink. I wish to speak some words about the League of White. I recognize that most members are good people. Their candidate this election, Buster Grimes is a down-to-earth man whom is humble in nature and modest in spirit, as are most of the League of White.

However, for whatever reason, the League of White attracts the eccentric idealists and the drug-addled madmen. The radical firebrands, the Themises, the Ghalishes, who would upend the closest thing we have to order simply because chaos is freeing.

Then there are the drug-addled Farsongs who, one can only guess, wish to abolish laws so they can snort pounds of drugs. When White Legate sits, these madmen come out of the woodwork to cry out for the things which, I imagine, convinced Legate Guivarch to go where the worms are.

Thankfully, the majority of you of the League of White are driven by kindness and empathy, this fills the heart of the Mother with warmth. And my heart. And so, I would ask you kind and also sensible people of the White to consider me an alternative.

Look upon the works I have facilitated. Laws to protect the common worker and labourer. The beginning of a new district that will house thousands once completed. The purchase of ash turbines so that those building that district need not work under the biting ash.

I said something in the past election which I shall say again for it remains unchanged: "Of you Whites, I cannot deny that your care and dedication to all good people is a key foundation, a basis of civilization, a tenet of the Merciful Mother. I believe in this same principle.

Basic decency demands I help the unfortunate. My honour compels me to protect the weak. My faith inspires me to raise the poor. I am not of your league but I share the most important principles that ensures wrongs committed against the people are undone." Thank you.

A speech over the bellows with the voting period begun.

QuoteHark! You hear the voice of Faith Kruehtzer, Candidate for the League of Purple in this election. As the voting period has now begun, I shall speak some final words of my vision of the Well's future.

Our path to glory in the future Caliphate to come was started long ago by the many predecessors who sat in the Legate's seat before me. I am humbled that I have been given the privilege to sit in the same seat so that I may contribute to the Well's progress along that path.

I see great things ahead.I see a completed district protected by tall walls and full of lively streets. I see more housing where people may grow their families. I see more industrial properties where local craftspeople--tinkers, tailors, smiths, what have you--can expand and continue their work.

For those of you whom seek stability and progress, I offer continuity and persistence. Legate Lhyrian and I do not have a perfect relationship--our Prelates, Mother bless them, can attest to that--but we have both found ways to work with one another to get badly needed things done.

Many of us have put our blood, sweat, and tears into this place--our home. For many of us, it and the people we hold dear are all we have left in the cruel desert. So, let us come together and build. Only the first few bricks have been laid. We have many more to place. Thank you.
