Ivar, Son of Skargrim,

Your words are honest and for that I thank you. Too many forget how to be, they need hide behind falsities to find their rest.

I like your brother for who he is and may skirmish next with him against all the pretenses of his new clothes. Unless he does something unforgivable he'll not die to my spear.

On Valeria, she is of elven blood and I will not abandon her as the clipped ears Evarielle and Vellyn have. But I will not murder either for useless coins. I know where Valeria stands on the shademan and he will be next for the altar if he comes within sight of her.

My charge now is seeing that she does not fall to sin as so many desperate others have in the past. Her spirit has always been one desirous of death and I will not try to cage her but keep her from falling to predations of the wicked ones. You cannot make a tiger eat ramie, only protect tiger from slavers.

If they come to murder me through Pyramid, they will throw away their pretensions of law and act on their want for revenge. I welcome this. Let them throw away their masks and reveal tyrant underneath. Let Vellyn and Evarielle murder their own and show their truth. Kinslayers.

I will remember the spirit with which you have sent these words. I do not know much about curse you are fallen under but if you want other to witness Sister's magic, I can watch and warn of any traps.

[Signed in blood]
