A Letter of Recommendation to the Legates of Ephia's Well

Honored Legates Lhyrian and Linwood, First and Second Seat of the Ephian Assembly,

As I now serve the Fourth Legion of the Sultan's Janissary, it is only formal that I relinquish my position as Palatial Advocate and in my place recommend a notable son of Baz'eel that I have grown fond of recently, and has earned my nod.

Ruital ibn-Kharim would be a fine choice to take my stead and continue the Honorable Guild of Advocates, though I believe he has some notion of wish to rectify its purpose and redefine its future, and I have no doubt for the better, as he is bred of Baz'eeli stock and grew up in the very same streets of the Martyrs' Adliye itself.

Thank you for honoring our agreement, Vellyn, however I shall like to say that it perhaps did not suit me well beyond a steady income in the aftermath of political failure, and the reform of the law I envision will not come into act until the Fourth Legion fixes its position and sets a straighter path through these narrow corridors we call our Penal Code.

It needs a man who does not seek to build a career with this city's expense, but a man who seeks to build a city at his expense, and I have long considered the invitation from Sergeant Gilbracht. Accepting the offer, I now live to truly serve Ephia's Well, rather than serve myself or my agenda for the future.

In apt display, I act the Martyr, not of my life, but of my days as a politician. A statesman though I shall always be, and it is to the Ephian state I dedicate my service to. Now and forever.
