Ashtirra,

It has been some long time since we spoke on the matter of Amelie, her passing, and the promises that I made to her in life.

You inferred some guarantees during that conversation - That you would seek guidance from your sisters, and that you would consider a means by which both of our oaths can be kept.

I have already found such a solution, Ashtirra.  You choose me as your successor, as Amelie chose her own successor(s), and then you step aside from stewarding that which we both were apparently chosen to steward and give me the clasp.

In this way, you will have kept your oath - You took up the clasp and the duty, and then you passed it along to me, allowing me to have kept my own oath as well.  Upon my oath will the Balladeers and the Sisters never be prevented access to that which is to be Stewarded.

I don't need to remind you how strongly I feel about not being made an oathbreaker.  I would rather take my own life than to suffer such a blow to my character, and indeed to my powers.  I urge you to accept this reasonable compromise, and to return to me your answer with haste.  This matter has dragged on now for far too long, and I begin to feel as though I am being trifled with.

Baelerie.
