I've tried to do a lvl 5 summon with a reageant with a lvl10 mage, and it dissappeared instantly because i had "only" 100 summoning points, when 110 were needed.

It would certainly help if this total was raised a little bit for a mage to be able to summon at least one creature of the lvl he can cast, whatever regeant used.

You need SF: Conjuration or GSF: Conjuration in order to lower the summoning point value of the creature.

I know conjuration helps, but it kinda sucks not to be able to cast your lvl5 summoning spell just for 1 creature. It certainly keeps the mages into the buffbot role, once again.

Caddies

You can cast your L5 summoning spell, but reagents will probably bump you over the summoning point limit.

In which case, simply use Summon IV. With the right reagents, it can be very powerful.

Cruzel

REagents can make your summons a lot stronger/Use a lot more points.

If you're not a specialized conjurerer, I don't really see why you would be able to  use powerful reagents on a level FIVE summon spell.

If you want to play around with summoning on that level, IMO you should have SF: to do it.

Level 5 summons are definately no joke, even without reagents.

DeputyCool

This is working exactly as intended then. It allows Conjurers to have a distinct edge at conjuring!

Letsplayforfun

So a lvl 10 illusionnist can't summon a lvl5 an illusion theme?

Thomas_Not_very_wise

Basically- Conjurer's should obviously be better at conjuration imo!

Howlando

I don't think this is working as intended, no. People just misunderstood your post. If the reagent is just changing the theme and not increasing the power of the summon, then you should be able to summon level 5s as a level 10 wizard.

I'm all in favor if SF or GSF giving a boost in summoning, but i think it's harsh to implement it in a way where it actually lessens the use of regeants for mages who don't use SF or GSF.

Give a boost to those using SF or GSF, but allow a common mage to use any regeant, at least to summon just 1 creature. In the specific case, i'm using (as the pc's been doing for two years) flickering shards, and now i just can't use them.

If SF or GSF allows to summon more, or longer, or whatever, good, but the way it is now is only pushing none SF/GSF wizards not to be able to play with regeants.

Or put special regeants that can only be used by wizards that have SF/GSF, which have cool effects.

Ebok

No. It means you cant use reagents for your strongest spells.

The L5 illusion monster is alot more powerful than the ordinary L5 summon.

N/A

And it is also a conjuration, not an illusion. Despite being an illusory summon.

Relinquish

I would think you would be able to summon a summon of your max level (Barring animal domain clerics) at least once, meaning it would take 100% of your summoning points, while a conjuration specialist would be able to summon one of them and a have leftover points to spend.

Caddies

Illusionists with the SF/GSF: Illusion feats can summon shadows using Shadow Conjuration variants and retain the bonus discount on such summons.
