It is pretty easy to level up in EfUR. I am not a fan of making it any easier, especially in the level range of 7+.

A level 8 PC should need a challenge to progress and learn.

I will not be around as often as I'd like for the next couple of weeks. Work has intensified ontop of a fellow coworker falling under intense medical issues.

I apologize to anyone this may have already or will effect. I'll try to pop in as much as I can and look forward to resuming my usual playtime.

I agree with this 100%.

If finding baublium is a concern, introduce it in higher quantities to more loot tables as quest rewards and from searchable placeables.

I prefer less automated interaction to begin with. Anything that promotes that gets a thumbs up from me.

I enjoyed what little time she spent alongside Eoghan.

Well done!

The Palestar

"It is through these rifts that our greatest foe first stepped foot upon our world. It is through these same tears in our reality that I shall go and from our enemy bring back our salvation."

~
~

A war criminal sentenced to execution, escaping his punishment during the chaos that fell upon the world during the Darkening. For him, his absolution would not be earned by death but by deed. The world had changed and grown cruel, the man bred for war understanding that fate is resolute and that his life had shaped him to endure where others could not. He would burden himself with the belief that somebody must do what others will not and cannot and that he must become this somebody.

Shortly after arriving within the Underdark and Sanctuary, Eoghan was chosen to be one among few to journey back to the surface and into the heart of Cormyr. It was there that he had learned of the atrocities mankind committed upon itself at the beckoning of the divine despite the impending doom of their world...

... and that the gods would reward men for destroying their own... and for conquering their own...

... and it was there that he learned of the alien minds from afar that sought to nurture the lesser races and keep them from conflict. These strange benefactors spoke of peace while men yelled for war still among one another.

The power of blood magic, as always spoken of by his brother Grimmaud, witnessed first hand.

Awaiting the giant's tide at the fore of the Reformed Order's fortification...

Dermott Helmsworth

Eoghan long sought others who were willing to do what others were not and able to do what others could not. Eoghan saw Dermott as one of the few, speaking the vows of the Covenant beside Dermott to join as his protector. Eoghan and Dermott grew fond of one another, It was beside Dermott that Eoghan slowly learned of his own potential and it became clear that their paths would part in time. When Dermott turned his back on Eoghan for the embrace of true family, Eoghan turned to the staff given to him and fully embraced what his friend desperately tried to keep him from. In the end, Eoghan got revenge against Blp (Dermott's oozeling son) for killing Dermott and poisoning Dermott's mind against Eoghan.

Their duel...

The Source

The aftermath of the Night of Crimson Cobbles in which Eoghan lept once more to Dermott's defense as Dermott's sounded Eoghan's horn, a token of their bond and friendship despite their growing rivalry. The horn was given to Dermott as a promise, that should Dermott ever sound it, Eoghan would come to protect him despite circumstance. Eoghan long yearned to journey to Ymph himself to take back his horn and to say farewell to his brother.

TO DEFY A KING. TO TELL HIM OF HIS DEAD SON. TO ESCAPE PUNISHMENT ONCE MORE.

When Eoghan was first given the Palestar he believed that it was the remnants of a being, one that would offer Eoghan guidance when it was most needed. It promised knowledge if only Eoghan would follow the path set before him - one that held many unexpected twists and turns.

Eoghan long sought to use the Palestar to climb his way into the Beyond and to find within it a weapon to give to humanity - a means to end the Dread Empire once and for all - a means to redeem himself. He had found that weapon but it was in his hands the entire time.

Static barbarian bonuses that could help round out the class;

Level 1: Bonus Feat: Toughness, less than 40% HP offers +1 AB and +1 AC.

Level 5: Less than 40% HP now also offers +2 Reflex and 10% physical damage immunity.

Level 8: +2 Will, less than 40% HP now offers an additional +1 AB and +1 AC.

-

Barbarian friendly equipment would also be very beneficial. +1 breastplate and chainmail used to be pretty common in previous chapters. They are basically non-existent now.

I remember being walked to Vyrgil on Beske for the first time saying to myself "this is the moment". It was the moment.

Kudos, Pentaxius. I'm eager to see what you roll next.

I agree with this:

Quote from: Ironside"It's very immersion breaking as well to see trains of dead PCs post-event or post-fight being dragged off to be resuscitated because Oghma has some sort of open door policy regarding the souls of the departed. When a dramatic scene plays out, and a beloved friend is cut down in front of someone by a wicked villain and hated foe, the first IC reaction shouldn't just be "We'll bring back his body and get him raised!". It massacres the tension in a big way.

I really don't want to turn this into a finger pointing blame game, but I see PCs say things to that effect all of the time lately and it's really just... lame.

When we cheapen death like this, it really makes the setting feel fake and flimsy. Imagine if when Commander Simms went down slaying the Appetite, someone just carted him off into an Oghman shrine and magic'd him all better. It's essentially the same thing, albeit on a smaller scale."

As well, I don't think we should be diluting the potential to be brought back to life to a single emote of "*cuts off the head*". When you toggle Full Death, it is a mechanic meant to represent your character's desire to actually kill his opponent. In most cases of PvP deaths that enjoy an "epilogue", I think that the intent of permanent death is very clear. However, in the chaos of larger and less managed battles where Full Death can be dished out amidst the scuffle, I think it is best for the players to use their better judgment and attempt to provide the best experience for everybody involved.

A very good suggestion and one that I can't really formulate an argument against.

I believe standardized/non-randomized HP rolls are a welcoming change because classes are already balanced by their hit-die values. I don't find random rolls to be desirable or a necessary representative of any facet of a character or concept.
