Suggestions / A Curious Puzzle - Standardized loot
February 20, 2017, 04:58:06 AM
While getting a rancid fish from the quest is humorous, I think it would be more appropriate to be rewarded with at least a guaranteed scroll.

Bug Reports / FE: Vermin - saves vs Poison not applying
February 01, 2017, 06:00:19 PM
QuoteVermin
  • +4 vs poison.
  • +1 Reflex.
  • Spell Immunity: Web.
  • +2 Listen, +2 Spot, +1 AB, +1 AC, while within the Sewers.

The +4 vs poison is not applying properly. This was tested on a ranger against Rock Worms and a poisoned potion gathered from the Explore the Abandoned Laboratory quest in the in-between. Relogging, resting and changing areas does not work.

Maughe will not accept Malar Beasts, Dire Frogs, non-wild Cave Prowlers, and Dire Bats for favor points.

The Dunwarren Ruins branch of the Watchers Beat Patrols series of mini quests is bugged. The conversation procs properly and XP is rewarded, but the journal entry is an error log, and the quest does not complete upon completing the conversation.

PC: Harissa Ashallin
Faction: Watchers and Warders (minimum access watcher)
Alignment: LG
Class: Fighter (Houndmaster)

A sort of two-in-one suggestion for the more criminally minded PCs.

As far as I've been able to figure out, both IG and out, the smuggling quest was disabled due to the drop points having been removed with the Great Dunwarren Reshuffle, and perhaps other factors unknown to me. I just don't see a reason not to have it back in action, since it would be one more thing for players to do during off-times, and that's in addition to being another opportunity for less-than-honorable PCs to get a headstart in their totally legit and legal careers.

Likewise, the NPC who would purchase the Stolen Goods items is also missing. The muggable NPCs still show up, ripe for the pickings, and PCs can still be caught with their goods for fines/beatings by the Watchers, but without any particular tangible reward aside from a short bit of RP. So it would be neat to see what could be available for PCs willing to take the risk, beyond just mugging other PCs for a spot of gold and a potion or two...

For both quests "Ghost Spirit Tribe" and "A Drunken Revelry" characters who were added to the quests via the Quest invite tool did not receive an XP reward when the quest was closed out via the quest bubble. The two quests remain in the quest journal under the ongoing quest tab.

Characters:
Steinarr (StoneBoys) (I think)
Regina Ishivin (Industrial Glue)

Bug Reports / Floating seats in the Crone arena
May 20, 2016, 02:44:17 AM
There are a few nonsensical floating seats within the arena below the Pissing Crone. They're in the way, not to mention that they make no sense in that there's no chair or stool or bench to sit on...

As far as I've seen, there isn't one. I don't think it would go amiss...

Suggestions / Reverse Pickpocket tool
April 14, 2016, 08:00:42 PM
Purely a roleplay aid, but it would be cool if a rogue who's successfully pickpocketed someone could also add in a little calling card, as if to say "Yes, hello, I was here." Also offers something a little more for the victim instead of just a message that they lost 10-20g. Just something to consider.

Suggestions / Pickaxes
December 09, 2015, 04:40:23 AM
With the mining gatherables scripted into the server, I think adding in the CEP pickaxe weapons would be thematically appropriate. While hammers and the greatmaul are serviceable, I feel they're tools that are more associated with stone masons.

In the description of the Scaled Warrior's Spiked Belt, it's said that the cloak slot will be automatically unequipped. However when the belt is equipped while a cloak is currently equipped, the cloak slot is not cleared. When equipped without a cloak, a cloak can be equipped normally.

Screen Shots & Obituaries / Sable Redhawk, Collared
December 05, 2015, 02:35:37 AM
And so ends a character whom I did not expect to live quite as long as she did. She had quite the journey, going from confused gloryhound to a Tempuran of deep faith and visions of greatness.

Thanks all to who helped me make this character shine!

Low-level non-app Kobolds and (and probably) Goblins don't drop their packs on death. Why not just disable the script for them? It's not like they're going to be able to respawn and use the goods anyway.

Suggestions / Magic Eaters
July 16, 2013, 03:00:47 AM
I've had numerous and very powerful magic eaters spawn in around my  character when casting, while I am at a very low level (3). These spawns  are incredibly powerful for such a low level, and can potentially and  frustratingly end a concept from an overwhelming and purely random spawn.

I'd suggest lowering both the maximum amount that can spawn, as well as the stronger of spawns, while within Sanctuary and Sanctuary-related areas (such as Q/A's and the worm pits). I don't think such powerful spawns should threaten such low levels so early in their lives.

Bug Reports / Collision Area bug in old Stones
December 13, 2012, 05:02:59 AM
There was a pile of rubble with a interact-able that allowed you climb over the rubble and progress through the corridor. Both the rubble and the orb are gone, but the collision area still exists, making it impossible to access one of the entrances of Old Stones.

Suggestions / Explore the Screaming Darkness
December 12, 2012, 04:14:36 AM
I just did this quest today, and I have to say, I really love the immersion it brings. Very characteristic of the Old Stones, very impressed. However, I was rather put off by the reward at the end of it.

Considering the nature of the environment (without giving too much away) and the enemies, particularly the boss, it has trouble standing up to much more impressive lower level supply quests in the same caliber, such as Beetles or Kobolds. I think perhaps a small boost in the amount of potions or nifty goodies it gives would benefit the quest a lot.

Artemis was a pretty simple concept: I want to play a ranger.

I went into her with no goals, no ambitions, and no expectations. I never thought she's last this long, or get to see so much. It's a little overwhelming, trying to think of all the things I got to do with her. It may not have been as spectacular, or as engaging as others might get to do or see, but damn, was it fun!

A little bit about her:

[hide=The Ranger]
Stats (at level 9)
STR 12
DEX 18
Con 10
INT 12
WIS 14
CHA 10

Diety: Selune

Alignment: Chaotic Good Neutral

Background

Artemis was the born the fifth child out of eleven to a farmer living  just outside of Dedluk, of Cormyr. Due to being in the middle of a  forest, the farm was small, and the family hunted almost every day to  supplement the harvest and live through the winter.

Her father was a ranger and adventurer before retiring to the life of a  farmer, though he did little more than protect the roads and trails from  the occasional bandit, owl bear, or Malarite, and it was he who taught  her everything she knows about tracking and hunting.

Life as a farmer was difficult, an the winters were hard on the family.  By the time Artemis left for adventure when she was sixteen, she was  only one child of five left.

Arty traveled all over Interior Faerun. From Cormyr to Sembia, the  Dragon Coast to Chondath. After several years of exploring, she traveled  north to Damara, and spent a great deal of time in the Bloodstone and  the mountains thereabouts.

There, she came across a necromancer and his pupils, high in the  mountains, raiding small settlements and travelers, harvesting their  bodies and attempting to recreate the power Zhengyi once held. Their  magics were still in their infancy, however, and after three years and  cleaning up their undead creatures and tracking the mages down, she put  an end to their plans.

Satisfied with her adventure in Damara, she was on her way to Chult when she was taken by the portal.

Personality
Arty is jovial and good humored, always enjoying a good joke and always  quick with a smile. She is often in high spirits and is fairly  optimistic, and seeks to spread that sort of optimism to others. Even in  times of dire emergency, she will try to lighten the mood with a  lighthearted joke or words of encouragement. Despite her friendly  nature, she is generally shy when asking others of  favors, or receiving  gifts, stemming from her previously solitary life.

She does have streaks of severity, however. Having been groomed as a  huntsman, she greatly respects wildlife and does not like to see it  harmed unnecessarily, nor it's products wasted. As a Selunite, she  respects the right of travel, and will protect anyone, regardless of  their allegiance, from banditry. Because of her great love of life and  the natural world, she also hates anything that desecrates it, such as  undeath or aberration. Anything that compromises the purity and  innocence of the natural world is to be struck down without mercy.[/hide]

After playing around in the server for a little while as a snarky, lispy ranger, Artemis eventually did develop goals, particularly after the incident with the Lottery, one of her first big to-dos! It was very exciting, and shaped her view of the Mist up until her death.

[hide=Some of her goals]Main Goals
  • Learn more of the Fox  Tribe Stargazers and their god 'Kepti', and their relation to the Mist.  As well, learn why the Mist keeps H'balan undead at bay and find a way  to harness that ability to be used outside of the Mists and to cleanse  the Ley Roads.
  • Use the Magistrate Masks to forge an alliance between the Fey Court and the Stewards.
Minor Goals
  • Fulfill the duties of a Guardian, under the guidance of the Druids of the Circle, to the best of her abilities and beyond.
  • Use the Zodiac Rings of Spring and  Autumn with the  Stewards and the Stargazers to aid the fight against H'bala.  Most  importantly, keep them out of reach of H'balans and the Conclave.
[/hide]

[hide=My Ggals for her]My Goals for Artemis (in no particular order)

  • To change faith from Selune to a different nature deity, preferably one less 'good'.
  • To 'fall' from Good to Neutral, or further.
  • To further embrace the more unforgiving side of nature, and be more ruthless and primal.
  • To give a palpable sense of nature-folk in the wilderness for Mistlocke, whether friendly or competitive.
  • To  further explore the wilderness/unknown areas of the server,  involving  Withering, nature, the Mist, the Stargazers, and the Fey.
  • To become proficient enough in Herbalism to give her an edge in battle, and to explore the craft in general.
[/hide]

In the end, I fulfilled some of her goals, and some of mine. I consider that fairly successful.

Big shoutouts to everyone who made Artemis a great experience! Midah, Maeri, Harriet, the Conclave wigglers, the Mustards, Aberdenn and Caermyn, Squire Reach and Emily, Mist Champion Rannie, Cecile, Aaron and the Sun Souls, Walt Tanner, Sarah and Secondus. All were characters who touched and shaped Artemis in one way or another. But don't think that's the end of the list. There's so many, too many to write down. You know who you are!

Special thanks to Team Nature aka Dirty Hair, for making the Scars Cave feel alive and welcome! Rani, Awanata, Bruka, K'niti, Alex, Winter, Maggot, Ogden, Duvador, Yngvi, Wintermoss, and so many more!

Big thanks to Madeline LaRue for mentoring my lonely Ranger and being a companion and friend to her during times of strife, and for recruiting her into the Stewards! Amazing secrets were revealed to her during that time, and I know I only scratched the surface.

Phew!

I think, for now, I'll be taking a break. No big characters for now, not until school wraps up. But I'll still be about! See you next time!

Bug Reports / Hostile Mob Bug in Random Encounter
July 13, 2012, 06:33:33 PM
In a random encounter involving a Cave Bear and several Bear Cubs, the Cave Bear will actually begin attacking the bear cubs, instead of protecting them like I assume it's supposed to be: a mother bear and her cubs and such. While this is easily explained away ICly as a rival bear killing the offspring, I'm guessing this was not the intended situation.

Bug Reports / Monsters Spawning Around PCs
July 08, 2012, 03:54:08 AM
On several occasions I have been in an area alone, cleared out a small group of enemies, and have had another NEW mob spawn either nearby, or right on top of me. These are almost always orcs or bandits, and one time I had it happen to a brand new character fresh out of the portal with nightrisers.

Bug Reports / No Longer Recieving Faction XP
June 20, 2012, 06:35:25 PM
Gamespy: Adhesive
Character: Artemis Lyonal

I noticed that I was not receiving the character advancement bonus for being in the Stewards shortly after the switch to the new server.
