Yeah this is the same with all of the electric spells that are meant to bounce with GSF, they seem to only work once in a blue moon, so rare I almost forgot about it

Been suffering some computer woes and haven't been able to fix them yet with everything else going on out there. As soon as I get some new hardware Angvald will be back!

Ashenforge died? Noooooooo! Rest in peace brotha! One of my favorite dwarves and one of angvalds longest living brothers. Truly awesome character and sad to see him go! A couple of working dwarves in the service of the city.

I've been relatively inactive this past week or so thanks in part to some computer issues (Resolved I think) and getting my place ready for a stay by visiting family. Haven't gotten to see them in a couple years, so I'll be out next week. I may be around yet this weekend, but then starting next week I'll be away. I'll be back full swing mid-February.

Another brilliant pc in the books for ol'Lannister!

Angvald got to do a lot of interaction with Visimar from the beginning of the character. They went through so many periods of ups and downs together, from being friends, to strangers, to enemies, back to barely tolerated. Still, we managed to get some great adventures in along the way, especially in ring 64. Man Angvald got in so much trouble because of Visimar though! Ho-boy! Hahaha.

We got to do a couple great DM adventures of his time together as well, including a zombie-zoo and the epic trip to ring 107! Glad he got to have an epic finale rather than just getting blinked out. As in the Lannister fashion, make a pc, turn him into a legendary creature, explode him in and epic final scene.

Bravo dude!

Duuude Ikodo was so awesome! I never got to dig into his philosophies but I was always thoroughly entertained by his antics. Never ceased to impress or at least give a great laugh with his subjugation of wizards. We had some pretty great adventures together! None will surpass the finale though. I wish you'd have won that fight in the end, I was so ready to hail the new king of Tehoto, but alas. That adventure was brilliant though and had a great time fighting with you on it. When I get home from work, I've got loads of great screenshots for you of the final voyage!

Screen Shots & Obituaries / Re: Beodda, son of Aethwin
January 20, 2020, 03:37:33 PM
Beodda, son of Aethwin was truly a legend. I was very luck to join him with a few different characters in his life time. In the early days we ran the rings together, experiencing the horrors and frustrations of 92. Fast forward half a year and we bump into eachother again, this time on Angvald. I would find he was still right where we left off in 92 and decided it was unacceptable. So Beodda and Angvald dove in together head first, managing to reach ring 64 and reunite at long last with all of Beodda's companions from his earlier days.

This character was one of my best friends on efu over the months and his death was truly heartbreaking. It felt cheap for such an amazing character to have such an unamazing death. Personally I feel he deserved a much better more epic ending. But, such is Efu. Beodda was one of the most inspiring characters I've had the pleasure to play with. He was always fun to be around, never negative IC or OOC and always ready to pick up and go do anything any time. A perfect buddy to RP with and a top-notch traveling companion.

It's not often a character's death strikes a chord with me, but this one did. Well played Garem and very sad to see you go, but very excited that you'll get to spend more time with your family! Go get em bro, its been absolutely awesome kicking it on efu with you. The legend of Booder will live on. And you will never live that down! Haha.

Cheers!

Screen Shots & Obituaries / Re: Velastra Quarterdragon

Velastra was an amazing character! I was fortunate enough to interact with her back in her early days and then again in her later career. It was always the highlight of my game sessions when I'd get to interact with you and the tears at the grey keep. We had some great times over the many pc's I've had that have gotten to play alongside her. It was definitely a huge loss to see such a titan go. Those rings are certainly dangerous! Great job though! This is a character I will remember forever.

General Discussion / Re: V5 Feedback Thread

Ticker square could certainly use a change of pace. I would definitely agree the Stonebuilders have less presence there post-contract-loss. The ones living in ticker square are really just a guild for laborers and stonemasons. They definitely should not 'go away' as a faction though. The Stonebuilders are rich with story and lore well beyond what is commonly known about them. And the presence of the faction is actually based out of an entirely different ring all-together. The Ticker square builders are a small sub-faction who basically retired from the great quest to live quiet lives in an old abandoned Stonebuilder outpost.

I personally would like to see (and work toward) an evolution of the stonebuilders away from ticker square specifically. I think of them like the doorkeepers. Like custodians that can be found all along the city, searching for secrets, trying to repair damaged sections and helping people who need it all over the rings. This faction has a lot of story to be explored and frankly none of it is really in Ticker square any more aside from the npc laborers living and working there.

Suggestions / Re: Associations and Ring Running
December 20, 2019, 10:47:16 PM
A small comment: The Stonebuilders have IC reasons to be ring running and its not to make a wish. Some factions will ring run for rp purposes and if you are involved in the story may find that it does make sense. I don't think it's right for someone else to tell me what I should/should not be doing with my character's story -especially if it fits in line with the story and plot of the faction I'm in.

That said I'm not opposed to some restrictions put in place. It does make sense for some factions that generally disfavor ring running such as all the rp Tane has been doing against Velastra for that reason. These are things that should be enforced by PCs or in extreme cases major faction npcs if it's warranted. If someone's abandoned their post -fire them.

I would NOT however be in favor of a blanket ban. Right now people are ring running for a reason. Ticker is dead for a reason. The more important thing to do is find out WHAT is that reason. Echo some elements of that reason to Ticker and 99 and you'll see improvement.

Changes that impact play styles should be done with encouragement, not with restriction. Provide more incentive to stick around in 99 and more people will. Right now the story isnt there. The metaplots that were driving players have been abandoned, shelved or postponed. The only current incentive to hang out in 99 is if you want to do pvp conflict between major factions.

Not everyone is wanting this. I personally am not. Not in this PC anyway I'm more interested in learning server lore and such -which only happend AFTER getting involved in the story-line of the Stonebuilders. At first I actually built Angvald pc TO be a conflict monkey and die fast. Plans changed.

Explore and talk to more npcs. You may find there are more ways to obtain that key than you might suspect.

I will be unable to log in until after the server has updated. As such, Angvald will be unavailable until this weekend most likely. I will however be available on discord and forums if anyone needs/wants to chat!

Add to that, the journal entry did not update on completion, so no end xp either.
((Which was sad because it was bloody and I died so no turn in xp to mitigate losses))

Suggestions / Re: Adjust the Troll-Quest in Ring 95
November 08, 2019, 03:50:04 PM
I am one of the few people that loves the troll quest as it is, I would run it every reset if only other people were willing. I would definitely suggest most people who I hear speak ill of the quest in general tell me the same thing. "It's not the difficulty, it's the reward." The quest it's self is not that hard if you use certain choke points and know how to fall back to them when big hoards come. The boss is fairly easy for a half-decent group. But I guess I would suggest if anything, maybe just adding a supply chest at the end similar to Orc or Morghoul? I think that alone would get a lot of people more willing to risk it for trolls. And in turn means people actually willing to run it with me! The vibe and layout of the quest is awesome though!
