The reward on these are very good. There's a few of them that could use a little tweaking (like the cold forest one) but overall I think they are massively more beneficial than terrible. I've seen some really good loot on these requiring little work / effort.

Suggestions / Re: Perk Suggestion Thread
February 09, 2018, 08:26:48 PM
I dont know why this is a thing but...

Why do the stacks of ranged projectiles that spawn for sharpshooter, knifemaster, and marksman anything but the max stack of 99 arrows/bolts/throwing knives? These perks are super under used as is, so why punish them for being ranged classes? I merely dislike the idea of having to spam rest far more than any other perk / class to be as effective as them. Also, the ammunition you can get from resting are already super RNG- this leads to eight or so different not stacked piles of ammunition that can't really be used effectively.

Kind of my insight as being a councilor.

One) I wish the prefectures were a bit more defined or had more unique things granted to them. A few prefectures seem a bit bland / not as fleshed out as the others.  Like the Blue Mushroom had this really dope room that you could invite people into; the Stadium doesn't have such a thing.

Two) More impact on passing / voting on motions. I know it's the last thing a dm wants to do, but considering we voted on several motions and agreed to them, nothing of them really went into law / were over looked as time went on. It felt kinda pointless to even look at the forum after a few weeks of seeing things written up but nothing really being done to show these things IG.

Three) This one's a bit more directed to players- don't be so scared to do crazy things. A thing that I focused on as Oliver was enable the villains to do their villain things. Most of the time, it was a slap on the wrist. Unless you're going full murder spree, most councilors will probably let you do what you want. Expand on that and exploit the current 'lawlessness' of Sanctuary!

So, the pretty boy meets his end... a second time... ha ha.

Oliver was my attempt to get back into the swing of things, and I really wanted to see what the Council could and couldn't do. His concept was simple enough- make the people love him.

I guess that's what happened, in the end!
Anyway he's some screens.

Oliver really did like Olof Ingman. He had really good moments, such as this one.

This really shook Oliver, having to murder a pretty girl like Madeline...

I don't have many pictures of my undead stuff as I lost all my files and stuff before I could take gyazos, so I'm sorry ;/.  Most of the time, I was just being super spooky and losing my sanity as time went on. Oliver being undead was the worst thing to happen to him, as he lost all contact with his emotions, his feelings. The inability to really act as he once was... I thought it a very sad fate, and I was trying to figure out where to go with him, but the trial cut it short!

Anyway, hope you guys liked it. I'll see you on the next!!

10k per nobleman.

Surface scavenging.

Magical artifice and brewing.

The Final Sanctuary self contained economy.

Animatronic labor.

Services to the city such as the use of portals and water filtration.

They're incredibly wealthy to say the least...

this is the right of it. Final Sanctuary itself, with probably over 250-500 noblemen who all paid ten thousand gold to get into Final Sanctuary... It's a lot of gold.

Bug Reports / Raid the Illusory Castle / Castle Vrazdn

PC- Oliver Orrell
Gsid- Like a wom, undecided

Myself, Olof Ingman, and Alaethe Savhoste completed Castle Vrazdn, but the quest complete was not given after slaying the boss, Lord Escobros Vrazdn. We contacted DM Vlaid, but he was unable to figure out the solution to the bug IG. Hope someone can fix this fun quest, thanks!!!

As I'm currently playing a Zealous Faith right now, the problem still remains with additions that don't really do anything. Mainly the 50% DI, and the +2 divine saves. Both of these are hardly seen in game. They could be replaced with probably almost anything, and see far more utility than what those two offer for the perk. This is why I suggested switching divine saves for death saves, because death saves are applied far more commonly.

Secondly, I like how bless works. It's not noted properly as level/turn, so that's pretty handy in some cases. I've not hit 8 yet, but I heavily dislike the idea of getting a different flame weapon just for myself, when a positivist can apply positive flame weapon to /everyone/. That alone makes the perk not that great. The +2 Shield bonus is nice, but it's on a time limit, and can be dispelled. The magic weapon bonus is OK, but I have a feeling it might not stack with the flame weapon effect when I hit 8, which is a massive turn off.

I don't think getting turn undead is worth it in this case, because even if they get that, they'd have to waste two whole feats for say, divine might. Which is not even worth it. The perk, if it's to be the melee sorcerer build people want it to be, need AB bonuses. I don't get why you wouldn't just add +1 AB vs good / evil as a static thing for them, if that's the case.

I see a few problems with your suggestions.

First, divine favor and Hammer of the Gods will take up a whole round to activate, unless they're instant cast which seems kinda obnoxious. I'd rather just drink a potion of favor, and not worry about Hammer of the Gods.

Second, +1 AB isn't anything compared to the several other 'melee sorcerer' perks there are.

The real problem with this perk is that it offers benefits for damage that aren't really common. Negative might be seen a little more, but divine is hardly, if ever, applied, so the immunities you're granted are essentially worthless. There's also a way easier way to get divine FW for yourself (positivist). There's also literally no AB bonuses, even though it tries to be like a melee sorcerer. I like that you tried to add that aspect in, but really, what are you getting that a spellsword or lifestealer won't?

I think the perk would just have to shift its entire make up entirely. It could be something like,

Level 1: +2 Fear, +2 Divine / Negative energy damage on MW.
Level 5: +2,Death +2 Shield benefit, +1 AB vs opposing alignment
Level 8: +2 Will, Flame weapon is given divine / negative effect, +2 ab vs opposing alignment.

That makes it a lot more comparable to spellsword, even though spellsword is still stronger in all regards (bonus to ac, don't have to worry about alignment, etc)

If you don't want to do the spellsword approach, focus on the defenses.

Level 1: +2 Fear, +2 saves vs opposing alignment
Level 5: +2 Death, +2 DC against opposing alignment, +2 Shield bonus
Level 8: +2 Will, +4 Shield bonus, +3 saves vs opposing alignment

That's a hundred times more worthwhile than the DI that won't ever be applied to you. It gives your DCs a massive boost, it gives you the saves of a wizard, and you're a bit more durable like what the perk is /trying/ to do, but fails miserably at what it does.

Closing point, the perk just needs to be rethought completely. I don't expect it be shifted to something like what I suggested above, but more to give an idea that there's a lot you can do to approach the whole 'faith obsessed' sorcerer, something that plays on bonuses and defenses against opposing alignment. Just don't make it DI based.

Think it's the right move myself. I just hope it doesn't bring a lot of stress moving over the server to the new platform, or cause conflicts with what EFU's got going on server-wise at the moment.

With the reveal of NWN:EE by Beamdog, what does the DM team plan on doing? Will it stick with 1.69, or will it attempt to move over to the new game?

I feel that's a very big question for the server's status at the moment, considering that there could be a massive influx of new players. It also affects the current playerbase, as we'd all have to drop 20$ to keep on playing, since the game dev's have stated they will not allow cross-server from 1.69 to EE.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Quote from: Bacon_Cheese_Burger;n673450Why not just remove the powerfull fighter perks? Problem solved.

Again, I must suggest that nerfing other strong things to make balance changes doesn't help. Buffing is better than nerfing- it's an essential fact of video game development. If we start nerfing fighters, they start to fall off farther than they already have. Fighters arent even at the top of the power scale, that title goes to bards and rogues at the moment, not including wizards. And basically there's no reason to nerf these classes either, because to do that you'd essentially gimp these two classes to a point of unplayability, which is where barbarians are at currently.

Making barbarians stronger, with the current suggestions in this thread, would help them get back into the game and be up to bar to compete. That's what we need to do.

Quote from: Talir;n673403As this has moved away from being a rant and instead gotten constructive, I'll also give some input:

More dispel items/svirfneblin disruptors

-- I do not think this being a regular commodity would be a good thing.

Give back +10% movement speed at level 8

-- We've gotten very firm on not having too much movement speed boost. That is not happening.

Heavy armor without drawbacks

-- This is a plain no.

These three I'll contest you on. Dispel items for pure barbarians and fighters are essentially necessary. If they are fighting a rogue or bard with a dispel wand, they are basically going to lose - not a single fighter or barbarian I know can keep up with wasting their time on refreshing potions and getting attacked by a rogue / bard at the same time. They just lose. Any time you watch a rogue fight a fighter or barb, they basically have it in the bag, unless the fighter gets extremely lucky and hardly gets dispelled. Dispel items for THESE TWO CLASSES ONLY would help immensely.

We are in a meta that relies on gold for supplies, which means wands are far more accessible to the playerbase. If wands are more accessible, any arcane / divine based class will hold an advantage over those classes that can't (which are barbarians, monks, and fighters). Adding more of dispel throwables to the module will help them last a better chance. Just make it OUB Fighter/Barb/Monks.

+10% Movespeed isn't anything. It doesn't stack with haste or retreats, it gives you a reason to get 8 barbarian. There are already multiple ways to get 20% movespeed, like dipping into ranger levels, or if you wanted, go for four rogue levels and get 5% movespeed added to your base ten. A pure monk can get 30% movespeed, and that STACKS with hastes and retreats. Who cares about 20% movespeed for a pure barbarian? They don't have much else going for them to stay pure.

Full plate armor with no drawbacks. This is what I get for wearing full plate over +1 breastplate (which there are two in the module, and extremely hard to get) AND investing my skill points into cross classing into tumble- Nothing. I get no bonus AC. I get no bonus effects. I just get more armor check penalties, and I have to invest a feat to just get the same AC as my fighter counterpart, instead of investing into tumble and hoping to god I get a +1 breastplate. I don't know why this is a problem. There is literally no difference for wearing a fullplate or doing the breastplate +1 and tumble combo. MAYBE the difference is I use up a feat instead of skills? I don't know why this is a problem? Like, if I wanted to invest into a full plate I should be able to be a full plate barbarian... I guess the only argument here is if you start getting into multiclassing shennanigans, but if that's the case, why not just do it like the bard perk? If you multiclass, you lose your barbarian benefits.

Quote from: zDark Shadowz;n673345Best barbarian I played really early on was one that got roped into the Watchers by Odelstad and was one with a very small sprinkle of fighter levels (stopped at 2) until he was forced to relevel cause the combination wasn't allowed (didn't know that at the time)

That being said you could probably make the barbarian you want to make with equivalent saving throws/feats with the divine champ prestige wundy. Charisma adds to duration of divine wrath so that's a plus to use alongside rage. #tempus4lyf

I'm not talking about multiclassing a barb. Hell, I can think of at least three different ways off the top my head to make a barb a hundred times better by multiclassing alone. I am talking about a pure barb's ability to stand out and be something unique. The barbarian perks aren't enough- in fact, all of the barb perks generally make you weaker than your normal barbarian perk. There's basically no reason to be a pure barbarian now, why not make them far more comparable to fighters / bards / rogues / rangers? Hell, pure rangers are in a far better spot in barbarians too!

Give them back their 20% movespeed, let them have the ability to wear full plate with no penalty. Give them something to live for, because as they currently stand they have basically nothing going for them that the other classes can't do much better.
