Scavenged Goods, revisited

Had 23 goods.  Turned in 20 for a "random item".  Received the item OK, and still had 3 goods left in my inventory.  I decided to return to searching rather than trade in the remaining 3, so I chose "Leave" in the dialogue choices.  It closed the dialogue, but my 3 remaining goods disappeared from my inventory.

JackOfSwords

OK... so I return, with 20 more goods.  Turn them in.  Then the dialogue seems to show I still have 3 goods left.  I choose "Leave" again, and they aren't in my inventory.  I open up the dialogue again, and there's no acknowledgment of the 3 items it just said I had.

Snoteye

Not a bug, although the implementation is arguably non-optimal. All goods are destroyed when you return. The three goods you have left don't exist anymore, it's like a (non-persistent) debit. If you return with one goods item, you'll be able to trade as if you had four, because at some point in this session you turned in three and chose to get nothing in return.

JackOfSwords

Perhaps text could be added to the dialogue option of "Leave", then?  Something along the line of, ((OOC: All goods will be turned in, you will be credited for them should you return with more.))

Would it be possible to change it so you turn in the scavenged goods (quest items) to get non-quest item tokens that can be traded in to him via dialogue for his rewards? That way if the actual tokens for rewards aren't quest items, they won't poof on a crash/reset, and some days it can get a little frustrating having like 22 scavenged goods, going on your way to turn them in and...boom, lost all that work.

Been there, done that, got a bit upset about it. :(

Mort

No. Otherwise they could be hoarded at level 2-4 forever and cashed in at level 5-6.

Will fix the "you must turn something in order to access his menu."

Vlaid

Well you can already do nothing but scavenge if you want to hoarde the rewards forever, if that's what you're worried about.

If you're talking about the exp portion, wouldn't that be handled when you turn them in for the tokens you would use to get the reward(which would still be quest items, making hoarding them for turning in for exp impossible)?

You get xp for this? Never noticed...
