It allows other players to enter while someone is already on the quest, much like the Puzzle Quest used to.

yeah umm...i don't see anything, unless you mean you only found 2 gems and it counted with another persons. But also, how is it possible to get over 7 points, i only see 7 places for gems, unless the things like the goo barrel have them, and my char can't reach them

Getting 11 gems is impossible. Only way is for another person to go down too. You only see 7 places because your PC isn't enough of a rogue to detect the rest by various means ;).
